Pending edit for The Chronicles of Narnia

Hi Nihonjoe -

Could you take a look at this edit which affects one of your verified publications. I suspect the editor is removing the overall INTERIOART because they're there for the individual novels. The publication is also verified by Gzuckier, though that is a transient verification. The remaining verifier is inactive. Also, the was another Narnia omnibus verified by Biomassbob that I discussed with him earlier today. He preferred that the overall INTERIORART record not be removed and I rejected that edit based on that discussion. I'm not holding the edit, so you may accept or reject as you wish. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 18:42, 5 January 2023 (EST)

If the interior art is individually entered, there shouldn't be a generic entry in addition to the individually entered INTERIORART titles. I've approved this specific one. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 12:27, 6 January 2023 (EST)

Forrest J. Ackerman credits

When you have a moment, could you please check how your verified Forest J Ackerman pubs credit Ackerman? The other day a user pointed out that most of Ackerman's books/stories use Forrest J Ackerman as opposed to Forrest J. Ackerman, but only 30-ish of our pubs credit him that way. TIA! Ahasuerus (talk) 17:36, 7 January 2023 (EST)

Sure. I'll try to remember to check when I get home. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 15:05, 9 January 2023 (EST)
I've updated this one. I'll have to see if I still have the Perry Rhodan book. I might have gotten rid of it. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 13:53, 11 January 2023 (EST)

Forced merges

Hi, you moderated here and here and I'm curious as to what happened/went wrong :) The results on the author page are what I wanted but... I don't understand how Stonecreek merged these two successfully *after* I submitted. Have I got that right? And what does forced mean in this context? Please explain. Thanks, Kev. --BanjoKev (talk) 15:49, 18 January 2023 (EST)

Sometimes, more than one person can submit an edit for a specific title or publication. Depending on the order in which the submissions are handled, one edit may invalidate another submission. That's probably what happened in this case. When I pulled those two submissions up for reviewing, they were already in an errored-out state and they had to be "hard rejected" (that's what "forced" means). ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 16:00, 18 January 2023 (EST)
Ah, now I understand. Thanks for that! Kev. --BanjoKev (talk) 16:09, 18 January 2023 (EST)
No problem. I've had a few submissions that have had to be hard rejected for similar reasons. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 16:14, 18 January 2023 (EST)

Godmakers

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?12480; https://archive.org/details/godmakers00pend; ISBN on Archive.org copy's copyright page is different than what's on ISFDB for the 1974 edition but some numbers match the catalog ID of the 1970 edition. Also, shouldn't regular title date of Pendleton be made 1974-02-00 and not 1970-00-00? --Username (talk) 20:07, 22 January 2023 (EST)

Nihonjoe is an active verifier for the 1974 publication: it's best to ask him about the ISBN (he has to be asked anyway if it is changed). And no, if a title is first published under a pseudonym we variant it to the canonical name and keep the date. Christian Stonecreek (talk) 12:43, 23 January 2023 (EST)
This is his page; that's why I asked here. Also, the book was published as by Pendleton in 1974 but on ISFDB the regular title date is 1970, the date of the original publication under the pseudonym (and nobody bothered to enter the month, either, which was entered for the 1970 book). So I think what I'm asking is if 1974-02-00 should be the Pendleton title date and not 1970-00-00. Plus the ISBN thing, too. Joe? --Username (talk) 12:52, 23 January 2023 (EST)
I'll have to check when I get home. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 13:03, 23 January 2023 (EST)
OK. I think I get it now; however, the month should still be added to Pendleton reg. date like it was for pseudonymous book date. ISBN is the only real issue now; date on copyright page in 1974 is different than numbers on cover which match ID of 1970 book. --Username (talk) 13:29, 23 January 2023 (EST)
I've updated the ISBN on this publication, making a note of the discrepancy on the ISBN from cover to copyright page. I also added a note about the front cover. The date on that pub is already "1974-02-00". ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 15:30, 24 January 2023 (EST)
OK. Also, I don't know if I'm confused or what, but I still think this, https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?12480, should be 11-00, shouldn't it? --Username (talk) 15:51, 24 January 2023 (EST)
Yes, it should be. Fixed. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 15:53, 24 January 2023 (EST)

Golden Cord

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?254440; https://archive.org/details/goldencord0000gene_n4e1; page count is 399, not 398, map is mentioned in your (?) notes and there is a map credit on copyright page and a full 2-page map, might be later printing with that number line, so you may want to take a look at Archive.org copy, compare with your PV copy, and fix page count, add map with further note, add link to the copy if it's the same as yours, etc. EDIT: https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?455160; https://archive.org/details/goldencord0000gene; page count is 373, not 386, another map with a later copyright date is mentioned on the copyright page, you may want to look at this, too, and fix/add. --Username (talk) 18:29, 23 January 2023 (EST)

I've updated the printing I have (see here). I think I got rid of the TPB I have as I can't find it, so I removed my verification of that one. I've updated the page count and the notes there and added the map. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 15:27, 24 January 2023 (EST)
