Hi Susan.  I have a make variant submission on hold.  The note and date are different, but the author credit and the title text are the same for both.  I don't quite understand what you're trying to do, so I'm not sure what to suggest.  Tell me more, and I'll see if I can help.  Thanks.  --MartyD 08:10, 6 September 2020 (EDT)

I believe you had mentioned in another thread that your books were in storage.  When you have access to them again, could you double check the ISBN for Lansdale's Savage Season.  I added the Worldcat number for this one, but it has a different ISBN, 0929480538 (or perhaps 092948052X, but I think that's for the slipcased edition).  The ISBN we have, 0-929480-22-8, matches the one listed in Locus1, which is likely the source for our record (It predates your verification).  While I suspect that one of the secondary sources is incorrect, I suppose it is possible that the book bears multiple ISBNs.  Once you can verify what's in the book, we can add a note explaining the discrepancy. Thanks for checking, though I know it may be a while. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 09:13, 22 January 2023 (EST)

::Susan, as I said in this conversation, variant titles are for the same work under a different title and/or author credit. They are not for variations in the work itself. Either the work is close enough to be considered the same and they should be merged (with an optional title note regarding the re-editing) or they are considered different enough that they should be left separate works with title notes explaining the differences. Again, variant title means a variation in the title credit, not the work. The database has no way of capturing differences between two identical credited (title & author) works other than notes. --&nbsp;JLaTondre (talk) 19:54, 7 September 2020 (EDT)

Hi.  I have your proposed Wikiworld merge submission on hold.  I am rather doubtful that's correct.  It's hard to tell because I can't find it on Amazon, but the ebook collection record from the same publisher less than a year later shows a $9.99 price and claims to have had a stated page count of 325.  The chapbook record, however, has a price of $0.99, and the cover image shows the different "SHORT FICTION FROM CZP" banner at the bottom. See also Google Books, which claims the ISBN for the chapbook is only 25 pages.  It looks to me like there's probably a chapbook and a collection, both with the same title and basic cover image, and these should be kept separate (perhaps with an additional note). What do you think?  --MartyD 08:32, 6 September 2020 (EDT)

::OK, but I see from an online search that many sites refer to the publisher (apparently one of several over the magazine's history) as Damnation Press while many other sites refer to it as Damnation Books. So I wonder if their name changed somewhere along the way; it would still be good if you could check this issue and any other issues you may have PV when you get a chance to verify how they were named inside the issues since online info can't be trusted. --Username (talk) 09:40, 24 April 2023 (EDT)

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?49331; An archived copy was uploaded in 2014, the same year you PV this edition, and while adding the link just now I noticed page count entered here is 357, not 355, and cover artist is entered as Nielsen, not Nielson like it says on the copyright page (same in the original PB), so if yours is really 355 pages and artist is Nielson can you fix those? I'm also going to ask PV of 2nd PB printing about this because they entered artist as Nielsen, too, so either they made the same mistake or the publisher corrected the name in later printings. --Username (talk) 12:08, 24 September 2023 (EDT)

Hello Susan. Re. This conversation. There are now two COVERART records for 376546. In addition, there's no explanation that clarifies that the book credits Stephen Hickman, but that he confirms that the art is not by him, and that Allan Pollack's website sports this piece of art. I am assuming that the tp edition does exactly say that, yes?<br>

I've been catching up on entering my audiobooks.  I own a digital copy of George R. R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons which I purchased on July 12, 2011.  You have verified what appears to be the 947992 that was released the same day.  I see two changes I would like to make to the record.  First, the cover appears to be the same as the 1306697, and I'd like to import that cover.  While the cover illustration of my copy is essentially the same, it does differ in some of the text and lacks the gold bar at the top.  My cover can be seen here.  Does the cover of your copy match mine, or does it match the one we currently have?  Could you check yours and let me know?  If yours doesn't match mine, do you recall if you obtained yours in 2011 or more recently?  I suspect that the cover we currently have may be from a later publication and not what was issued in 2011. Thanks for checking, and do let me know if you're OK with importing the Rostant cover.  Thanks.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 21:48, 1 January 2024 (EST)

: My sister and I have a shared library due to the Households and Family Library - she's the one who bought that particular book - some time in March of 2019... when I created the audible record here I linked to the amazon record, so it's likely the cover has changed Susan O&#39;Fearna (talk) 23:56, 1 January 2024 (EST)

While adding the images in our DB is not a problem, let's try not to put wrong and misleading information in the moderator notes, especially when there are new-ish editors as PVs.
+
::I should mention that I download all my audible purchases and manage them with iTunes.  Thus, I have a saved copy of the cover present when I purchased it.  If you keep your audiobooks in the cloud and use the Audible app, I believe that Audible will always show your their current cover in their app, as they do on their website. I'm guessing that you and your sister keep your copies in the cloud and thus it is uncertain which cover was present when the book was purchased in 2019. I think we should probably have two publication records, one with the original artwork with the 2011-07-12 date.  Another would have the current artwork and since we can't pinpoint the date the cover changed, with the unknown (0000-00-00) date. I would also add a note to that record stating that the cover changed sometime between 2011-07-12 and 2023-04-26 (the date you verified the record and linked to the current cover).  Assuming that we do this, and that you don't know which cover was present in your copy when purchased, would you prefer that your verified record be the one with the original cover and the 2011 date, or the current cover (with the gold bar) and the unknown date. Whichever you decide, I'll update the current record and add the second one, so you won't have to move your verification.  Please let me know your preference. Thanks.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 19:15, 2 January 2024 (EST)
* Amazon's ISBN-based links (links that end in /P/ISBN.jpg) are indeed unstable - Amazon links to the latest image for this ISBN.

* Amazon's Image-based links (links that end in /I/random_string.jpg) never change (or I am yet to see them change anyway). Amazon can change what image a book points to (and they do that a lot when there is a new edition) but the image itself, once created, does not change. Also, an FYI, when changing a title date make sure to also update the pub date and the date of any contents records. This is easiest done by editing the pub record (and not the title record) in many cases because then you can change the date of the pub record, the title record and contents title records in one go, instead of having to submit two or more edits (especially important to remember when updating the date for COLLECTIONs and ATHOLOGYs). I've got another audiobook with a change in cover that we both own, Verne's 950239 read by Tim Curry.  My copy has this cover without the yellow Audible flag and with Curry's signature appearing above his name.  I purchased my copy on March 6, 2012. I've got another one, the record for Tolkien's 947966 has the newer cover with the small RB logo in the lower right hand corner.  Whereas, the copy I purchased on October 1, 2013 has the older red bordered cover.  I'm under the impression that Recorded Books changed their trade dress fairly recently, within the last 1-2 years, but that's just my best guess.  Do you think your copy likely had the earlier cover, or is this one that you purchased in 2023 when you verified it?  Thanks for checking.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 20:31, 11 January 2024 (EST)

Hello Susan, I have your submission on hold as there's no source given for your change so can't approve this one as-is. Also, since the pub this COVERART belongs to is PVd, you have to check in with the PV (Welo) first to confirm whether or not the coverart is actually credited to Cliff Nielsen in this German pub (I think it is). If so, then it should not be updated to Steven D. Anderson, but rather to 'Cliff Nielsen (in error)', and then variant to the actual artist - provided you clearly indicate the source of the correction, preferably in the pub record itself.

Onto my request: you are doing great work, but can you add the source of the corrections you are making please? Either into the Note to Moderators field (eg. something like 'from other PVd record' would already do wonders ;)), or, in the actual pub Note field if the data is from secondary sources (eg. 'Artist from xyz'). The latter is especially important since otherwise we have no trace where the information is coming from (and adding (secondary) data source(s) is mandatory anyway). I know it's a little more work, but this would be improving the data traceability greatly, and would really help out the approving moderators. Thanks! I've come to the first volume of the Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith, 948605.  My copy was purchased 2014-05-05 and my cover lacks the "Only from Audible" banner.  Unfortunately, I can't find a high quality image of that cover.  The image downloaded into my iTunes from 2014 is here.  I'll also note, that the audio book does not appear to have the introduction, the note on the texts, nor any of the story notes, alternate versions and other back matter from the paper edition.  However, it does have an excerpt from the second volume in the series, The Door to Saturn.  Further, this was published by the Audible Frontiers imprint.  I would guess that the further volumes in the series will require similar changes.  None of mine have the yellow banner.  However, I'm working through my library in the order I purchased them and have not gotten to the other volumes yet.  While I recall that you prefer the image without the branding, do you know whether the cover of your edition has the banner or not?  Can you pin down when your copies were purchased.  Let me know, and I'll make sure we have records for both covers, and for the other volumes when I get to them.  Thanks.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 07:21, 17 January 2024 (EST)

Another cover question.  You uploaded a new cover for John Scalzi's 604598 on August 13, 2019. It has the "Only from Audible" flag in black and white as well as "Audible Original" across the top.  My copy does not have any of the audible branding and can be seen here.  Further, there is a newer cover from Audible that has the flag in yellow and I've cloned the publication 992241.  I downloaded my copy on October 4, 2016. I'd like to either revert the cover of our mutually verified copy to the version without the Audible branding, or leave your upload in place and change the date to unknown with a note that it was reissued sometime between 2016-10-04 and 2019-08-13.  I'd then clone the record for the other edition and one of us would move our verification.  Let me know if you agree and how you'd like to proceed.  I think changing the date on the existing record is probably a bit easier.  Thanks.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 21:14, 30 January 2024 (EST)

Hi.  I accepted your additions to The Art of Barclay Shaw, but the disambiguators you used ("2back", etc.) seem inconsistent with some of the other content where "B" is used for what I'm guessing is probably the same thing?  I sort of prefer the "B", but I don't think it matters as long as they all follow the same pattern. I discovered an odd thing while adding my audiobook of Gaiman's Neverwhere.  My 992943 was purchased in 2016 and has a 2007 production date within the book.  However, my Audible library shows a 2017 edition with an increased length (13 hours, 48 minutes vs 12 hours, 33 minutes).  This appears to match your 696608, but also shows a new cover.  I downloaded the new copy and added it 992944. To account for the change in length, I noticed that there's a note on the cover of your copy that mentions that it includes the story 1711544.  I used audible's cloud player and found that the story begins at about 41 minutes into chapter 20, in case you want to verify.  I've added it to my record with the newer cover.  I'm only mentioning it as you may want to import the story into your copy.  I don't really expect Audible to replace my purchases with newer editions, but as they gave me an extra story, I suppose I can't really complain.  Thanks.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 14:27, 3 February 2024 (EST)

Found another one.  You've verified 947980 of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five.  The copy that I purchased on February 28, 2017 has the same cover, but without the "Only from Audible" flag in the bottom right corner.  I'll clone this to make two copies, one for each cover.  Do you think your verification should stay on the one with the flag or the one without?  I'll also point out that we have the title as "Slaughterhouse-Five or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance with Death" and the author as "Kurt Vonnegut, Jr."  However, the audiobook has the shorter title of simply "Slaughterhouse-Five" and the author as simply "Kurt Vonnegut" with out the Jr.  I'll change both those at the same time unless you have an objection.  Let me know which cover you think belongs with your copy.  Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 21:23, 5 February 2024 (EST)

Hi Susan, you submitted an update of this pub that I've PV'd. As there is no credit on or in the book, and since it's a translation, please make sure to clearly state where the credit is coming from. I've come across another one where there was a cover change.  You've verified Martha Wells' 948006 on 2023-04-26.  I purchased my copy on 2018-02-21 and it has the older Recorded Books trade dress with the red bars as seen here.  My sense is that the change from the red bars to the small RB in a lower corner occurred sometime in 2023.  Do you think the current Amazon cover is accurate to your edition?  I'll clone to make another record with the other trade dress based on your answer.  Sorry to have to keep asking you about these, though it is interesting to see where our libraries intersect.  Hope you're doing OK.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 19:06, 14 February 2024 (EST)

Found another one.  Your verified copy of 695388 has the cover with the "Only from Audible" flag.  You added the record and verified it on 2018-12-02.  My copy has this cover without the flag and was purchased on 2018-06-10. We seem to be getting very close to the day when Audible started using that flag. If you purchased your copy on December 12, 2018, then I would suggest adjusting the date on yours to "2018-00-00" as the flag was added sometime between June and December.  If you bought yours much earlier, I could change the cover on your record to the version without the flag and add my verification.  I'd also like to change the publisher to the "Audible Frontiers" imprint which is how it is stated within the audio book. I've got some changes I'd like to make to 950495 narrated by Stephen Fry, which you've verified and which I will once I'm done with the changes.  First, I think we should make this an OMNIBUS instead of a COLLECTION, especially since it contains several novels.  I actually was adding a publication with the original cover 1000866 when the software flagged your copy as a potential duplicate.  I hadn't caught it earlier since I was looking for omnibuses. I'd also like to import the missing content and remove the note stating that it's missing.  I'll also swap the Amazon image for one of ours, and use the Narrator template. Finally, I would change the date of our copy to unknown.  The latest copy on archive.org with the old cover without the yellow Audible flag is from 2017-09-17.  My copy was purchased on 2019-10-27 and has the flag, so I would add a note that the new cover occurred sometime between those dates. It's been a while since our libraries crossed.  I'm going to update our mutually verified copy of David Brin's 931016.  The original publication didn't have the Only from Audible banner which was added between 2017-09-25 and 2019-10-07.  I'm going to change the date to unknown and add a note about the range of dates when it was added.  I'm also going to change the publisher to "Audible Frontiers" as that is how it appears within the book.  As always, let me know if you have any problems with these changes.  Hope you're doing well.  --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 21:19, 25 April 2024 (EDT)

Would you mind double checking the credit for the story on page 39 of 27370? == "Die Foundation-Trilogie" and its Jim Burns cover art ==

Hi Susan! As I wrote on Ron's page as a response to your post there last year, Jim Burns is not the cover artist of 367180. The cover artist is Thomas Thiemeyer only, which I can verify with 486828. Therefore the title record for Jim Burns had been removed from it last year. Now I see that you've added Jim Burns back again in March this year. What is your data source for doing so? Thanks, Jens Hitspacebar 09:06, 6 July 2021 (EDT)

: I just put in a removal order with a note, but that Thiemeyer guy's art is quite similar to Jim's work... look at his cover to A Stainless Steel Rat is Born and you'll see what I mean.  BUT if you have the work at it says Thiemeyer, I won't re-add it Susan O&#39;Fearna 22:54, 6 July 2021 (EDT)

:: OK, I did all the necessary changes and moved your note addition to the title record. As for the similarity to Jim Burns' art, and in general regarding an assumed similarity: if other publication records already use the same cover image and, moreover, have been primary-verified (301451 and 486828, which can easily be found by looking at 1052847) it's quite certain that the cover artist is already correct. Making cover artist changes shouldn't be done then just based on assumptions or subjective similarities, but by double-checking data sources or asking the primary-verifiers. Jens Hitspacebar 03:37, 7 July 2021 (EDT)

Welcome!

Hello, Ofearna, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 00:54, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Lansdale's Savage Season

Hi Susan -

I'll check when I can Susan O'Fearna (talk) 16:12, 22 February 2023 (EST)
OK... on the front flyleaf it says: ISBN 0-929-480-22-8 Trade $25.00 / ISBN 0-929-480-23-6 Limited Set $100.00
On the copyright page it says Signed & Limited Edition ISBN 0-929480-53-8 / Trade Edition ISBN 9-929480-52-X / LCCN 90-070490 Susan O'Fearna (talk) 22:49, 6 November 2023 (EST)

I can't get *to* my stuff, but I'll change it per your recommendation Susan O'Fearna (talk) 01:23, 24 April 2023 (EDT)
OK, but I see from an online search that many sites refer to the publisher (apparently one of several over the magazine's history) as Damnation Press while many other sites refer to it as Damnation Books. So I wonder if their name changed somewhere along the way; it would still be good if you could check this issue and any other issues you may have PV when you get a chance to verify how they were named inside the issues since online info can't be trusted. --Username (talk) 09:40, 24 April 2023 (EDT)

After the End

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?417779; I added 2 Archive.org links in a pending edit and I see intro is titled "Introduction: Before After the End", so if your copy says the same it should be fixed. --Username (talk) 11:49, 3 June 2023 (EDT)

Veiled Web

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?49331; An archived copy was uploaded in 2014, the same year you PV this edition, and while adding the link just now I noticed page count entered here is 357, not 355, and cover artist is entered as Nielsen, not Nielson like it says on the copyright page (same in the original PB), so if yours is really 355 pages and artist is Nielson can you fix those? I'm also going to ask PV of 2nd PB printing about this because they entered artist as Nielsen, too, so either they made the same mistake or the publisher corrected the name in later printings. --Username (talk) 12:08, 24 September 2023 (EDT)

The Internet Archive scan shows the ISBN10 on the copyright page and the back cover. An ISBN13 would be unusual for a 2006 book. Does yours actually have a ISBN13? Out of Avalon

Can you please double check the title page of your Out of Avalon? I have the first printing and while the cover has "An Anthology of Old Magic and New Myths", the title page of mine is "Tales of Old Magic and New Myths". Since we record per the title page, I will be correcting the first printing and wanted to know if yours should likewise be corrected or made a variant. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:53, 6 December 2023 (EST)

I've updated the first printing. Please let me know what your second printing title page states. Also, please double check the page count. In the first printing, the last 2 pages are unnumbered so I switched mine to xi+338+[2]. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 08:44, 10 December 2023 (EST)

Whispers, August 1982

Hi Susan

I'm going to clean up the title of our mutually verified publication of Whispers, August 1982. We currently have the title as "Whispers #17-18, August 1982". However, the standards for magazine titles allow for either using the date or the issue number, but not both. The date is also preferred. I'll move the issue number into the notes. Please let me know if you have any concerns. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 07:18, 8 December 2023 (EST)

A Dance with Dragons Audiobook

Hi Susan

I've been catching up on entering my audiobooks. I own a digital copy of George R. R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons which I purchased on July 12, 2011. You have verified what appears to be the same edition that was released the same day. I see two changes I would like to make to the record. First, the cover appears to be the same as the Larry Rostant cover, and I'd like to import that cover.

My sister and I have a shared library due to the Households and Family Library - she's the one who bought that particular book - some time in March of 2019... when I created the audible record here I linked to the amazon record, so it's likely the cover has changed Susan O'Fearna (talk) 23:56, 1 January 2024 (EST)
I should mention that I download all my audible purchases and manage them with iTunes.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Hi Susan

I've got another audiobook with a change in cover that we both own, Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth read by Tim Curry. My copy has this cover without the yellow Audible flag and with Curry's signature appearing above his name. I purchased my copy on March 6, 2012. Could you check your records and see if your cover is the same as the Amazon cover linked or matches mine. If you don't have records for this one, I can handle it the same way as I did the Martin. I'll also note, that I was able to match the translation based on this page and have linked it to the others where the translation has been identified. Thanks in advance for your help on these. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 21:56, 4 January 2024 (EST)

The Handmaids Tale Audiobook

Hi Susan

I expect I'll keep finding these. Your copy of Atwood's The Handmaids Tale is listed with Marcellino artwork. My copy was purchased on December 15, 2012 and does not have artwork on the cover, which can be seen here. My copy would also be part of the A List Collection publication series. Can you determine whether yours has the illustrated cover, or the text cover? I'll happily clone the existing record to ensure your verification stays on the proper record. Let me know which cover you believe that you have, or if you can't determine, which record you would like to have your verification. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 14:04, 7 January 2024 (EST)

The Hobbit Audiobook

Hi Susan -

I've got another one, the record for Tolkien's The Hobbit has the newer cover with the small RB logo in the lower right hand corner.

Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith

Hi Susan -

I've come to the first volume of the Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith, The End of the Story.

I bought it as a "free to audible members" but haven't had a chance to listen since I got so sick and spent so much time in hospital over the last two years, but it was Sept 2021 (maybe Oct) and mine always had the yellow banner so I can't confirm the contents except what the audible description says. Susan O'Fearna (talk) 10:46, 17 January 2024 (EST)
I see. They series is all in Audible Plus. I've cloned the publication after making the changes. While I do recall that the essays were missing, I had a listen to the opening and closing and have verified they are not there. Happily, that's how I found the excerpt. As before, let me know if you have any concerns with my changes. I'll handle the other volumes similarly. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 18:51, 17 January 2024 (EST)

I don't see any indication on title page that publisher is Canadian (I think those say NAL of Canada or something) so maybe DAW started printing in Canada around that time but the books were still American publications? --Username (talk) 11:05, 21 January 2024 (EST)

Scalzi's The Dispatcher

Hi Susan -

Another cover question. You uploaded a new cover for John Scalzi's The Dispatcher on August 13, 2019. It has the "Only from Audible" flag in black and white as well as "Audible Original" across the top. My copy does not have any of the audible branding and can be seen here. Further, there is a newer cover from Audible that has the flag in yellow and I've cloned the publication here.

Just ran across another one. My copy of Bradley's The Mists of Avalon has this cover and was purchased 2016-09-19. Whereas, you've verified this record on 2023-04-23 which is, I believe, a newer cover. I'd like to change the date of your record to unknown with a note that it was issued between 2016-09-19 and 2023-02-13. I'd also clone it with the earlier date and the earlier cover. Do you have any objections to those change? Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 22:02, 30 January 2024 (EST)

Neverwhere Bonus Story

Hi Susan -

I discovered an odd thing while adding my audiobook of Gaiman's Neverwhere. My copy was purchased in 2016 and has a 2007 production date within the book. However, my Audible library shows a 2017 edition with an increased length (13 hours, 48 minutes vs 12 hours, 33 minutes). This appears to match your verified copy, but also shows a new cover. I downloaded the new copy and added it here. To account for the change in length, I noticed that there's a note on the cover of your copy that mentions that it includes the story How the Marquis Got His Coat Back.

I'll check, but I think audible automatically updates, so it'd be cool if I have Marquis Susan O'Fearna (talk) 10:23, 5 February 2024 (EST)

Slaughterhouse-Five

Hi Susan -

Found another one. You've verified this copy of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five.

Hi Susan

Hope you're feeling better. I've got another one. My copy of Gaiman's Coraline has this cover which has a red bar at the bottom stating "Unabridged". I purchased and downloaded my copy on 2017-09-29. I see that your verified copy has a cover without the red bar. I also see that you uploaded the cover of your copy on 2019-08-06 and you verified the copy on 2018-12-16. I'd like to change the date of your record to unknown with a note that it was issued sometime between 2017-09-29 and 2018-12-16. I would also clone yours for a record for my copy with the earlier date. Please let me know if that sounds OK. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 18:55, 9 February 2024 (EST)

All Systems Red

Hi Susan - I've come across another one where there was a cover change. You've verified Martha Wells' All Systems Red on 2023-04-26.

The Lions of al-Rassan

Hi Susan -

Found another one. Your verified copy of The Lions of al-Rassan has the cover with the "Only from Audible" flag. Please let me know how you'd like me to proceed. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 21:51, 29 February 2024 (EST)

My copy was purchased 2018-11-20 and has this cover. Given the difference in the dates, I'm going to go ahead and adjust the publication date of your record with a note narrowing down the cover change as best we can. Hi Susan -

I have a question about Joe Hill's The Fireman. I see that we are listing a story, "What If There Was Just a Little Bit More Story?" as included with the novel. I haven't actually listened to the novel yet, but looking at the track listing in the Audible app, the last track before the End Credits is titled "Delivery". I also jumped around at the end of that track and didn't detect a separate story. Are you sure that the story is included in the audio edition? I'll leave the story in place until I hear from you. However, I am going to replace the Amazon image with one that we host. I'm also going to use the Narrator template in the notes. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 18:42, 3 March 2024 (EST)

Hope you're doing well. For Jeff Hirsch's Sovereign, your copy which you verified on 2020-02-26 has the yellow "Only from Audible" flag. The flag on the cover of my copy which I downloaded 2019-02-20 is white (seen here). I had a peek at archive.org for this one and it looks like the change in cover happened sometime between 2019-04-05 and 2020-04-05. I'm going to go ahead and clone your record and adjust the dates. I'll also add the Audible Original publication series. Let me know if you have any concerns about these changes. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 08:26, 9 March 2024 (EST)

His Majesty's Dragon

Hi Susan -

I'm going to adjust the dates of Novik's His Majesty's Dragon. My copy has this cover and was purchased on March 31, 2016. Given your verification date of 9/20/2023, I assume that you have the current cover. I'd also recommend deleting the excerpt of Throne of Jade. I've got a copy of the paperback as well, which does include the excerpt, and I listened to the end of the audio version and the excerpt is not present there. However, I won't delete it from your copy without your agreement. Do let me know if you have any concerns with the date changes. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 12:11, 16 March 2024 (EDT)

The same situation exists for Throne of Jade and Black Powder War. My copies purchased in 2016 have these covers: 1 and 2. Neither audio book includes the excerpt from the next book in the series and I've verified this with the paperback copies. It's also interesting that the audio book itself gives the publisher as "Books on Tape" for all three of these. This isn't surprising as BoT is an imprint of Random House. In any case I'll be changing the dates for these as well but will hold off on deleting the excerpts until I hear from you. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 18:06, 16 March 2024 (EDT)

Stephen Fry's Sherlock Holmes

Hi Susan - I've got some changes I'd like to make to Sherlock Holmes narrated by Stephen Fry, which you've verified and which I will once I'm done with the changes. First, I think we should make this an OMNIBUS instead of a COLLECTION, especially since it contains several novels. I actually was adding a publication with the original cover here when the software flagged your copy as a potential duplicate. Please let me know if you are OK with these changes.
