Half of the Extinct? Entries Don't Show Up!

Hello! There were a lot more stories in 'Extinct?' I hit the 'add title' and kept adding full records... Then I submitted the complete listing. Only the ones for which I did not have to 'add title' appear. Are they gone forever? That was a lot of typing. How do I add the other half of the anthology's stories?

Sorry about the bad picture. The ISBN 0890836787 brought up "Opium Hunter" instead of "Killer Genesis" everywhere on the web except WorldCat. Someone must have mixed them up on sites like Amazon, eBay, and GoodReads and it just spread.

Robert Anton Wilson

I've been adding books to Robert Anton Wilson and did two edits on non-fiction books that were listed as novels. Hi--can you explain why someone (you?) changed the date of the title record of The Anatomy of Monsters to 2018-02-16, the same as the date of the published title? No book titled Anatomy actually appeared, so why is it given this date? --Vasha 18:09, 9 March 2018 (EST)

You can use "Recent Edits" under "Other Pages" to find past edits (though it can be painful if more than a few days past; there is an open feature request to make it searchable). In this case, it was Stonecreek. I don't know why, but we all make mistakes or see things out of sequence. I have changed it back. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:17, 9 March 2018 (EST)

By the way, what would happen if I edited the title of a Publication Series to be the same as that of another Publication Series? I notice there are several cases of multiple pub. series tghat are the same thing under slightly different names (like E.D.H.A.S.A.'s Nebulae) and they should be merged. --Vasha 16:18, 31 March 2018 (EDT)

The software won't let you change a pub series name to be the duplicate of another pub series. I also don't believe there is a way to merge pub series. As per this discussion, ISFDB:Policy#Rules_of_Acquisition is about to be expanded to include:

• Speculative fiction webzines, which are defined as online periodicals with distinct issues
• Special speculative fiction issues of non-genre webzines
• One time speculative fiction anthologies published on the Web

Farmerphile 4

The editor records needs to be part of the Farmerphile series. Look at Christopher Paul Carey and you will see the other issues under "Magazine Editor Series", but #4 is sitting by itself under "Magazine Editor". That's because Farmerphile #4, April 2006 does not have a series assigned to it. All magazines/fanzines should be part of a series. That can be fixed by adding the series or (in this case) merging it with the other 2006 record. -- JLaTondre (talk) 12:28, 22 July 2018 (EDT)

Updating SERIAL Help

I am leaving this message on the Talk pages of active editors who (AFAIK) are currently active in the magazine/fanzine area. Based on recent feedback from a new editor, I have attempted to streamline our Help templates which govern the use of the SERIAL title type. I have posted a proposal which shuffles the relevant snippets between 3 different Help templates and clarifies a few things. Yes, you submitted it twice. The tp and ebook are merged (see title record). We differentiate between title records and publication records. Each publication (hc, tp, pb, ebook) gets its own publication record (including separate printings). However, they are all combined under a common title record.
