Welcome!

Hello, Wordgrinder, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 16:10, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Submissions

Hi, and welcome. Thank you for the submissions. I approved them all and made some small changes (mostly to the specification of the format) to get them to conform to the ISFDB standards. While researching them, I found covers and other information, which I added where appropriate. Two modifications to which I wanted to draw your attention in particular:

  • Of Wolf and Man -- Amazon gave the 2003 original as published by PublishAmerica, with the 2009 edition published by Lachesis Publishing. So I changed the 2003 you submitted to PublishAmerica, and I added the 2009 print and ebook editions with Lachesis as the publisher. Please feel free to fix those up if that's not right.
  • When It Rains and Other Wreckage -- I added the "and Other Wreckage". It looked to me like that is part of the full title. Again, feel free to fix it if that's not right.

You can also just respond here (indent your reply with a leading colon), and I will fix them. Do you have the list of stories in When It Rains? We would record all of those. I will see if I can find a list online anywhere, but I didn't see anything doing a quick search. Thanks, and thanks for contributing. --MartyD 17:27, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks. How do I make changes to the listing for the collection? I do have the list of stories and would like to add them, but can't seem to find instructions to help with that particular task. Thank you! Wordgrinder 19:26, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Whoops! Never mind, I see the instructions right on this page! Good grief. Sorry and thanks again! Wordgrinder 19:53, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
No problem. If you need any help, just ask. I see you made several more submissions that someone else handled. The Help Desk and Community Portal are good places to ask the community at large for assistance. The Moderator Noticeboard is good for getting a moderator's attention if you need help with a specific submission. Also feel free to post on anyone's talk page. Everyone's very friendly and happy to help. --MartyD 10:06, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

New submissions

Hi, and welcome back. I approved your new submissions, but had to change a few minor things. In the pub format (binding) field you use terms like "Limited edition hardcover" and "Trade paperback". we use "hc" or "tp", the designation "limited edition" should be in the notes field. See here for the possible formats. I added the currency symbol ($) to the prices you added. I also had to remove the links to darkfuse.com and badmoonbooks.com (we don't have permission to link there). Instead I uploaded the images to our server and linked them to the pubs. One last thing, you added a publication type "chapterbook". With this type you also need to add a contents record. See here for the helptext. Thanks for the submissions. --Willem H. 07:29, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Red Chalice

Re this publication: I replaced the cover image link to one on Amazon. We don't have permission to deep link to image files on the publisher's website. I also added the currency symbol $ to the price field. Thanks. Mhhutchins 01:37, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

"The Rest Is Noise"

I believe the length of "The Rest Is Noise," by Nicholas Kaufmann, in your verified publication Dark Fusions, is 8,000 words (novelette) based on its online publication. Please let me know if this is correct. --Vasha (cazadora de tildes) 17:56, 23 December 2018 (EST)
