Changes to John G. Hemry/Jack Campbell pubs
I am changing John G. Hemry's canonical name to Jack Campbell; this is affecting some of your verified publications. --Vasha 17:52, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
A batch of nongenre stories - if you disagree please comment
Currently there are numerous non-genre horror stories that are in the database because it's natural to just enter a book of horror or "tales of terror" without figuring out which stories are supernatural. I don't intend to systematically hunt for them, but when I spot one, I like to mark it nongenre. (In the case of classic stories, marking is better than removing it from the database because it'll just get re-added with some new anthology.) At the moment, I've spotted the following stories that I think need such a change, and I'm consulting people who have them in their verified pubs.
Firstly, there's Great Tales of Terror and the Supernatural (verified copies: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7)), which contains "A Terribly Strange Bed," "The Three Strangers," "The Most Dangerous Game," "Leiningen Versus the Ants," "A Rose for Emily," "Taboo," and undoubtedly other non-supernatural ones that I'm not noticing at the moment. Here are verified publications for those and some other stories (yours is bolded):
- "Taboo" by Geoffrey Household - An eastern European community is terrorized by a series of murders. The mystery is solved, but the terror, and other psychological effects, linger on. Particle Theory
This is about your PV of Particle Theory. The last story is credited as "Afterword: To See" on 245, at the tops of the odd numbered pages in the story, and in the Contents. The publication had been verified as containing "To See". I went ahead with adding the VT.
I also updated the pub notes:
- Change "First Timescape Books printing, October, 1981" to "First Timescape Books printing October, 1981" (the pub record had an extra comma) to match how it's formatted on the copyright page.
- Added "Another Original publication of TIMESCAPE BOOKS" (on copyright page)
- Change "Printed in the US" to "Printed in the U.S.A." to match how it's formatted on the copyright page.
- Moved "OCLC <A href="http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/8131798">8131798</a>" to the external link thing.
--Marc Kupper|talk 17:40, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- ASFAIC, I tend to skip the "Introduction", "Prologue", "Afterwords" etc... parts of titles as it (IMHO) makes for an "heavy" presentation. In this specific case, I found the varianting a bit of an overkill. Hauck 17:54, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- Changes are all correct. Thank, --Willem 19:07, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Hauck, if you chose to not record a title as stated then there should be a pub-note documenting the stated title. Please see Template:TitleFields:Title. --Marc Kupper|talk 05:56, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Sundiver
This is for Sundiver
- I changed the pub-note "Cover artist is uncredited and signature not visible on cover." to:
The cover art is credited as "Cover art © 1980 by Bantam Books, Inc." Signature not visible on cover. - Added "bp" page number for Sundiver [2] interior artwork to fix the ordering.
- Added notes to the title records for the interior drawings one and two describing them.
I'm not sure why there are separate records for the interior drawings as I suspect all Bantam printings have both drawings on adjacent pages. We don't list the page numbers for any of them other than being in the bp section of the publications. Our records for later printings (with the new cover) only have one of the drawings in their contents. I've left a notes with a couple of verifiers as I suspect those printing have both drawings. If that's the case I'd like to propose deleting the Sundiver [2] interior artwork title record and to have the record for Sundiver interior artwork be for both drawings. Another option is to change the titles to "The Sunship - Side View" and "The Sunship - Top View". --Marc Kupper|talk 07:55, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

The Birth of Flux & Anchor
The Birth of Flux & Anchor: The publication date in this record is “1985-12-00” which matches the copyright page in my copy “First printing: December 1985”. However the Notes say “First Printing: October 1986”. Is this a mistype or are there 2 First Editions? --AndyjMo 09:14, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
Elephant Song
Elephant Song; the current Notes say that there is no artist signature on the artwork. On my copy there is the top half of a signature John Rush at the bottom right of the cover. Is it there on yours? --AndyjMo 07:30, 6 January 2018 (EST)
The Strange Case of Mr. Pelham
Hi. At 15:46 you were too quick for me, or I was too slow or sloppy for you, as I worked on the 1st UK ed. of this novel P408468. Commonly I submit a record, notice from the display that I should improve it immediately, and do so without deleting the former from the queue until the improvement is there. Sorry about that. --Pwendt|talk 16:46, 4 March 2018 (EST)

Orbit -> Orbit (US) changes
Hi. I have several submissions on hold that propose to change "Orbit" and some other Orbit variation publisher credits to "Orbit (US)" based on ISBN and price. Some of them affect your verified publications. Would you have a look and let me know what you think? I'm posting inquiries to the other active verifiers, too. Thanks. --MartyD 08:44, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
