Hi, I approved your submission, but made some changes. I made it Beaver Books, like the first edition. The price format I made £0.90, instead of UK90p. As the 1st edition (Trade paperback, priced at £0.60) already was published in 1977-01-00, 1977-00-00 can't be right -my guess would be 1981, based upon the price.--[[User:Dirk P Broer|Dirk P Broer]] 14:56, 28 February 2021 (EST)

Welcome!

Hello, Miss Midnight, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! MagicUnk 13:46, 28 September 2020 (EDT)

Snapdragon: A Collection of Queer Stories

Covers go to the books. So if you have a cover for the "Arthur Barker" book, go to the record for it here, click on "Upload cover scan", upload the file and then come back and edit the record to add the jpg link into the publication. If you have a cover for any of the other books, click on it from the title list and follow the same instructions. Let me know if you have any questions. Annie 02:12, 8 October 2020 (EDT)

The Naked Sun

Hello,

Regarding this update. This record is for the 4th printing of this Voyager / HarperCollins edition. Is the date 1996-00-00 for the first printing or for the 4th? If it is for the first, then a clone needs to be created for the 1st printing; if it is for the 4th - what is the source of the date (book itself, a list somewhere, something else)? Thanks! In order to answer, you can press Edit next to the title of my question here (far right) and write at the bottom. If you do not see the Edit link, look at the top right corner of the page - there is a Log in link. Use the same credentials as for the main DB (technically the Wiki and the DB are two separate web servers, we use the same DB and credentials for both though). Then you should be able to.
About what you sent in the update - the 789 line as a print line means "7th printing". As this record here is the 4th, it is not from 1996 (unless they managed 4 printings in one year). So instead of editing, Clone from this one for the 7th, update the notes to say 7th and with the exact wording from the book and fix the date in this new record. We keep separate records for every printing :)
If you still cannot post, either leave another message the way you had been doing or go to my page (click on my name here) and there is a "E-mail this user" link on the left and I will work with you to figure out what is wrong. Annie 02:18, 18 January 2021 (EST)

Artist and author names when unknown

When entering the cover artist name for one where the cover artist is unknown, simply leave the field blank. Entering "No artist credit or visible siganture" creates an artist/author entry for someone with the name "No artist credit or visible siganture", which is not useful in the database. If we ever figure out the name of the artist, we can edit the entry to include that. Please let me know if you have any questions. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 14:50, 25 February 2021 (EST)
