The Arsenal Out of Time

Could you check your copy of The Arsenal Out of Time? I think I have the same edition, but on the backcover of my copy Kelly Freas is credited for the cover art. Thanks, --Willem H. 12:19, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

I'll have to check on the weekend, book is in storage boxes.Kraang 00:19, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Mine's the same.Kraang 21:17, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

News from Elsewhere

The artist for [this] is Kelly Freas. Confirmed by email with Freas' agent who has the preliminary sketches but had no idea what book the artwork was used for. He's a happy camper! Cheers! --~ Bill, Bluesman 04:22, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

The Cingulum

Can you check the cover art credit as stated in this publication? I have a suspicion that "Norma" and "Segrelles" are two different credits: one for his art agent and one for him (he's often credited as his last name only.) Thanks for checking. Mhhutchins 21:14, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

I'll have to dig this one out of the storage boxes later today.Kraang 16:21, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
"The Cingulum" credited as "Cover art by Norma Segrelles"Kraang 21:19, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

The same situation with this publication. These are the only two credits for "Norma Segrelles" in the database. Mhhutchins 21:15, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

On "Downtiming..." it's credited as "Cover art by Norma Segrelles"Kraang 16:16, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Diving Into the Wreck

Does this 2009 publication have an ISBN-13 anywhere on it? Thanks for checking. Mhhutchins 02:48, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

It does and I've fixed it. Thanks!Kraang 03:00, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Men Against the Stars

Hello, is it possible that your verified pub is the same as this quite similar one ?. Hauck 14:27, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Based on past experience mine will probably be a Canadian printing and sometimes they have a different number, but I'll check and update the listing. Thanks!Kraang 04:06, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
Here's an example[1]Kraang 04:09, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I was thinking along such lines but was surprised by the similar price. Hauck 07:52, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Land of the Dead

I've added the uncredited poem '"From the Annals of Cuauhtitlan" that appears on page 11 to our verified pub. It also appears in the earlier volumes in the series. PeteYoung 23:21, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

The Destiny Dice

This and this publication look identical to me. The title of the book based on my copy is "The Destiny Dice" by David Bischoff. Should these two be merged together? TAWeiss 00:27, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

I'll have to pull this one from storage and check the title page.Kraang 01:27, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

The Forgotten Planet

Hi, I want to add The Forgotten Planet to the Masters of Science Fiction series, would you agree?--Dirk P Broer 18:46, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Sounds fine. Thanks!Kraang 23:42, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Sword of Lankor

Found a signature on the cover of [this], just beside the front figure's shoulder. Added the artist credit. Cheers! --~ Bill, Bluesman 17:30, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Another mystery solved. Thanks!Kraang 02:08, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Destiny Dice

Can you look at these entries?: Destiny Dice and The Destiny Dice. They appear to be the same item but with slightly different titles. The correct title is "The Destiny Dice" and I've uploaded a cover scan to that entry. In addition, the cover artist is credited as "Kraft" on one entry and "Craft" in the other. The correct attribution is "Kinuko Craft" according to the copyright page. I think a merge might be in order.SFJuggler 21:26, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Book is in storage will look on weekend.Kraang 00:30, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
Fixed the title but the variant of "Hall" is incorrect.Kraang 04:19, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
This and this publication look identical to me. Shouldn't they be merged?
Deleted the duplicate pub.Kraang 03:23, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

If the Stars Are Gods

Can you take a look at your copy of If the Stars Are Gods? My copy states that the Sterbach art is on page 94 and it actually is. The cover art is credited on the copyright page. Mine also came with an errata slip indicating that chapters from the previous version of the novel were accidentally reprinted and that the reader should skip from page 21 to 41.SFJuggler 05:57, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Book is in storage will look on weekend.Kraang 00:31, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
still looking, was not in storage box must be on shelf.Kraang 04:31, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
Mine's the same as yours but without the errata slip, so the current info was added after I verified my copy and the 2nd verifier Bill recently passed away. Ill create a new record and move my verification and add a note about the errata slip in some books. Hows that sound?Kraang 02:03, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

The One-Eyed Man

Replaced the amazon image for [this], also added the Afterword and the short story. The latter presents the obvious: this is [technically] an omnibus. Also, I'm sure some enterprising editor will present the [novel ;-))] idea that the subtitle be included in the title record [I like them just fine in the notes, though this one is at least interesting ....]. Your call as first PV. Cheers! --~ Bill, Bluesman 05:10, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

The Ethos Effect

Please confirm that an ISBN-13 is present in this 2004 publication. The ISBN-13 wasn't implemented into 2005, but I suppose it's possible that a publisher may have jumped the gun. Make sure it's not the 13 digit EAN printed above the barcode which was the forerunner of the ISBN but isn't exactly the same thing. Thanks for looking. Mhhutchins 17:43, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Will check. Thanks!Kraang 02:47, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Help question on Canadian printings

I posted a query on the Help Desk about an apparent Canadian edition. My impression is that you're our resident expert on such issues, so if you have a moment, I'm hoping you'll look at the question. Chavey 04:29, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Extremis

Hi. You've verified the hard cover edition of the book Extremis. I have a copy of the paperback edition. The artwork appears to be identical, but your copy credits Kurt Miller, while my copy credits David Seeley. Someone placed a note in the paperback notes, perhaps when the record was created, which indicated that the credit to David Seeley was not correct, but didn't give a source. I was trying to resolve this, and it was suggested that I contact you to begin with, and ask you to check your copy for the artist. I guess it's possible that it was wrong in the paperback edition, but on the other hand, since it's a later edition, it might reflect a correction, or maybe the artist is using a pseudonym. Thanks, Jack Sjmathis 18:26, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

The cover artist is Seeley but the dust cover credits Miller for illustrations. Have a look at the note I added. Thanks!Kraang 00:59, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks very much. Jack Sjmathis 12:26, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Joel Shepherd's 23 Years on Fire

Hi,

re the publication you've primary verified here: I have a copy of this book & would like to make the following changes to the publication record:

- change the page count to 435 - this being the highest printed page number on my copy.
- add Stephan Martiniere as the cover artist (from back cover).
- add $18.00 as the price in Canada (in the Notes).
- change the publication date to just 2013-09-00 because Amazon now states 10th September (not 3rd) & the publisher's website here isn't more specific than September.

- replace "Data from Amazon.com as of 2013-07-18." with "Month from Amazon US."

Please advise if these changes are OK by you. --clarkmci / j_clark 22:50, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

That's fine. Thanks!Kraang 02:21, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
Done. --clarkmci / j_clark 06:42, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Alan Dean Foster's The Dig

Long ago, you verified a copy of Alan Dean Foster's The Dig . The image is an Amazon scan. I have a copy of the same publication, except the cover has printed a sticker-like seal stating "SPECIAL OFFER ON The Dig (tm) CD-ROM Game! See Last Page". And on what would be page 312 is a full page offer (after a blank page 311). If your copy matches the existing cover without the offer, I'll create a new entry, otherwise I'll upload my image to this pub. Thanks. Doug 16:45, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Sorry I missed this post. I'll be away till Sept 30, will check boxes when I get back.Kraang 03:47, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
The other verifier (PortForlorn) confirmed his copy had the special offer, so I have updated the image from the Amazon image to my scan. Doug 16:35, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Foundation and Earth / The Story Behind the Foundation

There are two title records for the essay "The Story Behind the Foundation": This one that appears in a pub record that you verified, and this one that appears in a pub record verified by SFJuggler. I believe the two title records refer to the same essay and should be merged. Would this be OK with you? I have invited SFJuggler to join this discussion. Thanks, Patrick -- Herzbube Talk 00:10, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

That should be fine. Thanks!Kraang 00:52, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

L.E. Modesitt, Jr.'s The Eternity Artifact

Can you verify the Canadian price for this pub of L.E. Modesitt, Jr.'s The Eternity Artifact? The entry claims a Canadian price of $9.99, but my copy has $10.99, visible on the spine and inside front cover. I will also be checking with other two primary verifiers. Thanks. Doug 16:20, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Verified and updated by Hauck. Doug 16:43, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

CHAPTERBOOKS =/= series data

The title records of CHAPTERBOOKS should not be entered into a series. The SHORTFICTION content should be. I've moved the series data of Deadly Night: Jenni and Katie's Untold Tale from the CHAPTERBOOK to the SHORTFICTION. Thanks. Mhhutchins 07:34, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Thought that's what I had done? Must have done the reverse.Kraang 03:32, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
