It is best to first create a publication record for the Russian translation. Once that has been accepted into the database, the newly created Russian title record can then be varianted to the original English title record. Use the "Add New Novel" link under the Editing Tools menu on most pages to create a new publication record. Thanks. [[User:Mhhutchins|Mhhutchins]] 17:56, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi.  When you upload a cover image and want to add the link for it in the publication record, don't use the URL of the Wiki page (e.g, you used '''<nowiki>http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/index.php/HPSTDVNMD01967.jpg</nowiki>''').  Instead, you need to use the URL of the image itself.  You can right-click on the picture and copy the link/shortcut, or you can copy the link that appears immediately below the picture, next to the size information.  It ends up being something like: '''<nowiki>http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/7/73/HPSTDVNMD01967.jpg</nowiki>'''.  I fixed up your submissions, so just something to keep in mind for the future.  Thanks, and thank you for contributing.  --[[User:MartyD|MartyD]] 12:15, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Galacta, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 17:54, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Creating variant titles

It is best to first create a publication record for the Russian translation. Once that has been accepted into the database, the newly created Russian title record can then be varianted to the original English title record. Use the "Add New Novel" link under the Editing Tools menu on most pages to create a new publication record. Thanks. Mhhutchins 17:56, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
