When entering a magazine with a serialized novel, enter the serialization in the standard format, e.g. "The Courts of Chaos (Part 1 of 3)" or "The People of the Golden Atom (Complete Novel)".

Once the submission has been approved, check if this Title has been reprinted as a Novel or as Shorfiction. If it has, make the new created Serial record(s) into a variant title of the Novel/Shorfiction Title following instructions for the add publication screen. Note that serialized works are often given a different title when they appear in book form, so additional research may be required to identify reprints before you can create a variant title.

If the newly entered Serial hasn't been reprinted in book form, check whether the Serial appeared under a pseudonym and, if it did, create a variant title Serial for the canonical form of the author's name.
