Hi Susan -

Your verified publication of Johanna Lindsey's Warrior's Legacy is dated June 1990 and has a note from the copyright page stating that it is the date of the First Avon Printing.  However, there is an additional note stating "RA 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3" which to me looks like a number line indicating the 3rd printing.  There is a scan of the first printing which has a full numberline.  I'm going to clone your publication to create a record for the first printing.  I think the date on your record should be changed to unknown (0000-00-00) unless you have further information that the first three printings were all published in June 1990.  Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 18:53, 20 February 2023 (EST)

I assume your copy is the same. I didn't leave a note in the magazine's record about the difference but you may want to and may also want to double-check to make sure there are no other differences that need fixing. --Username (talk) 09:52, 19 April 2023 (EDT)

PREFERENCES FOR NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES TO PRIMARY VERIFIED RECORDS
 • If you've come here to inform me that you wish to make any change to a record I've verified, please click HERE and add it to the bottom of the list. A link to the pub record would be appreciated. You can proceed to make the submission.

Thanks. Susan

Welcome!

Hello, Ofearna, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 00:54, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Lansdale's Savage Season

Hi Susan -

I believe you had mentioned in another thread that your books were in storage. When you have access to them again, could you double check the ISBN for Lansdale's Savage Season. I added the Worldcat number for this one, but it has a different ISBN, 0929480538 (or perhaps 092948052X, but I think that's for the slipcased edition). The ISBN we have, 0-929480-22-8, matches the one listed in Locus1, which is likely the source for our record (It predates your verification). While I suspect that one of the secondary sources is incorrect, I suppose it is possible that the book bears multiple ISBNs. Once you can verify what's in the book, we can add a note explaining the discrepancy. Thanks for checking, though I know it may be a while. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 09:13, 22 January 2023 (EST)

Damnation

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?347419; All other issues on ISFDB are published by Books, not Press. Can you check and fix if necessary? --Username (talk) 11:05, 23 April 2023 (EDT)

I can't get *to* my stuff, but I'll change it per your recommendation Susan O'Fearna (talk) 01:23, 24 April 2023 (EDT)
OK, but I see from an online search that many sites refer to the publisher (apparently one of several over the magazine's history) as Damnation Press while many other sites refer to it as Damnation Books. So I wonder if their name changed somewhere along the way; it would still be good if you could check this issue and any other issues you may have PV when you get a chance to verify how they were named inside the issues since online info can't be trusted. --Username (talk) 09:40, 24 April 2023 (EDT)

Schoolbooks & Sorcery / Riverdale Avenue Book(s)

Hi, I've taken the liberty of making a minor edit to one of your pubs. It had "Riverdale Avenue Book" as the publisher, and was the only pub against that publisher. As "Riverdale Avenue Books" was copied into the pub note, I've assumed the publisher field was just a data entry slip of the keyboard, and added the "s" to switch it to a publisher with many other books. Hope this isn't a problem. Thanks ErsatzCulture (talk) 11:57, 15 May 2023 (EDT)

Cool, thanks Susan O'Fearna (talk) 22:54, 16 May 2023 (EDT)

Dark Swan Bundle

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?514894; I've been fixing the few Zebra Books on ISFDB that should be by their later name, https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/publisher.cgi?132, so your PV should probably change publisher's name to the latter. --Username (talk) 11:56, 23 May 2023 (EDT)

I PVd it as it appeared when it was published. If you think it should be changed, go head. Susan O'Fearna (talk) 00:43, 25 May 2023 (EDT)

Otherwere

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/view_submission.cgi?5674999; I added link and fixed reg. title date but just wanted to make sure your copy doesn't have a number on p. 261, just an About the Editors page with no number (that's why I changed count from 261 to 260), and that the note about "To Be Continues III, Inc." is actually as I corrected it to. --Username (talk) 08:27, 26 May 2023 (EDT)

All my books are still packed away.... if I ever get well (friggin' surgeon!) and get to unpack my stuff I'll check - for now I see no problem with the changes you made. Susan O'Fearna (talk) 12:19, 26 May 2023 (EDT)

Adventures in the Dream Trade

Languages reminder

Just a reminder to watch out for the languages when importing covers: for example here, you imported an English cover into the Dutch books. Instead a new cover should have been created and then varianted. I had fixed that one and working on some more you added but just heads up. Thanks! Annie (talk) 13:56, 30 May 2023 (EDT)

After the End

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?417779; I added 2 Archive.org links in a pending edit and I see intro is titled "Introduction: Before After the End", so if your copy says the same it should be fixed. --Username (talk) 11:49, 3 June 2023 (EDT)

James C. Christensen & Thomas Canty

Triskell Tales 2

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?82980; Your notes include the word fictious; should that be corrected to fictitious? Also, should design be by Desert Isle, not Desert Idle? The dates are also unclear, with the book and the cover art being May, the collection title being May 1, and the intro having no date except the year. --Username (talk) 08:55, 7 August 2023 (EDT)

He'll Come Knocking at Your Door

Those are things I added in 2 separate edits to this book that you PV. Credits for Tom Hallman and Edvard Munch are on archived copy's copyright page which I assume are there on your copy, too, right? --Username (talk) 07:26, 27 August 2023 (EDT)

Sacred Ground

Please double check the list price of Sacred Ground. Amazon and Audible both say $20.99. Thanks, John Scifibones 15:52, 20 September 2023 (EDT)

Tantor, kobo and audiobooks all say msrp is $24.99 Susan O'Fearna (talk) 23:32, 24 September 2023 (EDT)

Veiled Web

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?49331; An archived copy was uploaded in 2014, the same year you PV this edition, and while adding the link just now I noticed page count entered here is 357, not 355, and cover artist is entered as Nielsen, not Nielson like it says on the copyright page (same in the original PB), so if yours is really 355 pages and artist is Nielson can you fix those? I'm also going to ask PV of 2nd PB printing about this because they entered artist as Nielsen, too, so either they made the same mistake or the publisher corrected the name in later printings. --Username (talk) 12:08, 24 September 2023 (EDT)
