Welcome!

Hello, Swilk, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins|talk 01:09, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

New submissions for publications

I've accepted the submissions to create publication records for the database, but have had to make several changes based on ISFDB standards. You'll find those standards linked in the Welcome section above. If you decide to continue editing the database (and we wish that you would), please take some time to look over those help pages.

  • The link to a cover image for this record was removed because the file is hosted on a website which hasn't given us permission to link to their files. I've replaced it with one on Amazon.com. Also, the two publications which you had linked a cover image on Amazon were to the webpage and not to the image file. I've corrected that.
  • The publication date (including month and day) as given on Amazon has been added.
  • The decimal places in prices for US dollars have been filled, e.g. "$25" to "$25.00".
  • Spaces have been placed into the names of authors with initials, e.g. "A.J. Huffman" to "A. J. Huffman".
  • The cover art field for work that isn't credited should be left blank, not credited as "not listed". I've also removed the credit to the Museum for the artwork.
  • Books published in different formats (hardcover, paperback, ebook) should have separate publication records. I'll leave it to you to create the additional records. Using the Clone function will expedite that process.
  • Books published after January 2007 should have an ISBN-13 and it should be entered into the ISFDB publication record if it appears in the publication.
  • I corrected the title of How the Ray Gun Got Irs Zap! [sic] to How the Ray Gun Got Its Zap!.
  • The link to Amazon in the title records has been removed per ISFDB standards.

Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins|talk 01:35, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
