Welcome!

Hello, Shadeheart, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Kraang (talk) 23:08, 6 March 2023 (EST)

Hello to you... and thanks for writing - I greatly appreciate the welcome! Indeed, though I joined quite a while back I definitely took my time becoming familiarized with the protocol and system guidelines before making submissions/edits/contributions. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns at any time; otherwise, I'm here if you need me! ^^ Shadeheart (talk) 15:00, 7 March 2023 (EST)

Author updates

I'm holding the following three author updates because there is no change submitted. Dante Alighieri, Tanith Lee & Lafcadio Hearn. Your note to moderator say 'Minor formatting fix. What are you trying to do? John Scifibones 17:13, 22 March 2023 (EDT)

Hey there! ^^ My edits merely meant to ensure the URL (cross-)linking was entirely secured for those particular entries (adding the "s" to the hypertext transfer protocol). Please let me know if this is in any way not the protocol for ISFDB; in reading through the rules, regulations, editing standards and contributional guidelines, I didn't recall seeing any particular denouncement of an edit of this sort, and seeing as to how the images themselves appeared to be incorporated into the Wiki site using the more secure image hosting format, I considered it a minor fix worth making. If this is considered so minuscule and insignificant as to not warrant a re-submission please do let me know; I merely intended to make sure the internal security of several site images would remain indefinitely secured ensurably. Regardless of whether this specific case is up-to-grade, I'll lean more into more significant edits and changes (for the better, of course, and only as time necessarily permits); thanks for writing! ^^ Shadeheart (talk) 18:34, 22 March 2023 (EST)
This change is not necessary. Got to Lafcadio Hearn's summary bibliography page. Hold your curser over "this web page" in 'Image supplied by ISFDB on this Web page' below the image. Notice how the link resolves to https. After you see this, I'll approve them since they won't hurt anything. No need for you to start out with three rejections.
Only mark posts minor when you are correcting spelling or grammar, etc. Many users (moderators and editors) filter out minor responses. Take five minutes and review Wiki Conventions. John Scifibones 07:26, 23 March 2023 (EDT)
...I see, I see. Thank you for the clarification - will keep all of this in mind moving forward! ^^ Shadeheart (talk) 14:51, 23 March 2023 (EST)
