Welcome!

Hello, Scbaker, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 10:44, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Fugue in a Minor Way / Key

You're the author of the story? The title as shown in the record for that issue of Galaxy's Edge is how it's printed in the magazine, both in the TOC and on the story's title page. If the story title was supposed to be Key instead of Way future printings of either the E-format or the POD format could be corrected [not the first time] but even that can't change the fact that there exists at least one copy with the latter. I entered the contents and have the issue. If you can get Galaxy's Edge to make the changes for any future printings, let me know and I can add an appropriate note to the record. What I can't do is just change the story title. If this was a book, a separate record would be made for a later printing that corrected errata, I honestly don't know if that applies to magazines .... don't see why not. --~ Bill, Bluesman 16:17, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

I am the author. I will contact the publisher and ask them to change it--although this is very frustrating because I already asked them to change it when I proofread the thing. Gah. Thanks, Bill. Scbaker 16:54, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

How about keep it as-is (since it was published with this title) but variant it to a title with the proper wording? The explanation could be put in that parent's notes. Seems like that would cover all the bases, whether this publisher corrects the title in the future or not. --MartyD 04:26, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

Flash Fiction Online

Are all of the contents you entered into the submissions to add records for this periodical considered speculative fiction?

Also, each issue must be distinguished by adding its date in the title field. For example, the February 2016 issue would be titled "Flash Fiction Online, February 2016". I'll make the changes when I accept the submissions, but ask that you give the correct titles in any future submissions.

Please take some time to read this field-by-field guide to creating and updating publication records on the ISFDB. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins|talk 18:29, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Another concern: you dated the issues as the first of the month. The standard for periodicals is to only give the stated month of publication. So the April 2014 issue would be dated "2014-04" instead of "2014-04-01". Mhhutchins|talk 18:16, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
Submissions have been cancelled after three weeks without a response to the inquiry. If you believe this was in error, please post a message on the ISFDB:Moderator noticeboard. Mhhutchins|talk 04:41, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
