Hello, Michael Flores1, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:22, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

I'm holding your edit to DOA III. Can you please confirm the title? We credit per the publication's title page. In the Kindle Look Inside, it is "DOA III" with no periods & no subtitle. I know that print versions and ebook versions are not always identical, however. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:22, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

I credited by the sales page title on Amazon, WalMart, B&N, etc. But okay to cancel my edit, and I will follow in the future just by the publication's title page.Michael Flores1 13:11, 31 July 2018 (EDT)
Yes, we use what is on the title page. I've gone ahead and rejected the edit. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 16:56, 1 August 2018 (EDT)

The Five Senses of Horror

I'm also holding your edit to The Five Senses of Horror. Is Eric J. Guignard credited within the publication for those two essays? If not, then they should remain listed as uncredited. If you have an external source with credit, it should be listed in the pub notes and the uncredited records varaianted to Eric J. Guignard. Also since you verified this pub, you are saying you have a copy of it. In that case, the pub notes will need to be updated as "Data from ..." should only be used for unverified pubs. Once verified, the data should be from the pub and if there is any data not from the pub, the notes should be specific as to what data (ex. "No publication date in pub. Date from Locus1."). -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:22, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

I was provided a Advance Review Copy of the book and on the contents pages Eric J. Guignard was credited for the 2 essays in question. All data verified from the pub itself. Michael Flores1 13:14, 31 July 2018 (EDT)

I've rejected your second edit to The Five Senses of Horror. ASINs should only be entered for ebook versions or pubs without a ISBN. That does not apply here. I will also be removing the ASIN from the DOA III edit once it's been processed. We enter ebooks as separate publications. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:22, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

Okay. Sorry for incorrect input.Michael Flores1 13:14, 31 July 2018 (EDT)

Secondary Verifications

Please remove the secondary verifications from these two pubs. Secondary verifications means the pub is in that source and you have compared the publication record to the source. There is no way a 2017 or 2018 book is in reference books published prior to 2017. Please review the help links in the welcome message above. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:22, 26 July 2018 (EDT)

Oh, sorry. I thought all the verifications were if we had an actual copy to verify. I will review the help links you referenced. Michael Flores1 13:17, 31 July 2018 (EDT)

Charcoal Joe

Charcoal Joe sounds like a non-genre mystery. Are there any genre elements? Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 16:59, 1 August 2018 (EDT)

I think I jumped into that one without thinking it through in depth… there are a few mystical elements of strange tea and witchcraft, but you’re right—it’s crime genre, not speculative.Michael Flores1 12:03, 8 August 2018 (EDT)

Secondary verifications in DOA III

Hi -- I found another one where you mistakenly set all the secondary verifications to "Verified," DOA III. Please remove those and look at your other contributions to see if there are other ones you need to fix -- Thanx! (Also, I added a couple of the stories in the contents because they were in Year's Best Hardcore Horror but I didn't add the complete contents; I'll leave that for you to do.) --Vasha (cazadora de tildes) 03:55, 23 October 2018 (EDT)

User was last time active on 2018-08-08 so he didn't get this message. Maybe a moderator can solve those erroreousely added verifications? --Zapp 09:02, 2 February 2019 (EST)
This is not possible, even for moderators. The only solution would be to clone the publication and delete the existing one. Hmmm, I'll post this at the moderator's noticeboard. Stonecreek 09:15, 2 February 2019 (EST)
Without an immediate chance of your reaction I have cloned the following three publications (and deleted the erroneously secondary verifications), which has lead to the loss of your primary verifications. You are invited to PV them again (you are also invited to enter any missing contents, beginning pages, and other valuable information & notes. They are here, here and here.
Also take a look on this. It's likely that the same will be done to your verified publication of this title. Stonecreek 11:33, 2 February 2019 (EST)
