Welcome to the ISFDB project!

I have put two of your submissions on hold -- submission 5434789 and submission 5434793 -- pending review.

You state that:

  • you are the author of the collection The Alchemy of Reality by Andy Echevarria
  • that the collection was never published, and
  • that only review copies were sent out by a "scam artist is who entered my accountant".

First of all, let me clarify that we define "publication" as an act of making a work available to the public with certain caveats and exclusions -- see ISFDB:Policy#Rules_of_Acquisition for details. Review copies alone would not make a work published, but if a book was offered for sale by Amazon, it counts as being "published". In this case this publication record was originally created by User:AndyEchevarria -- see submission 2915272. It was later updated by the same user -- see submission 2916401 with the following note:

Data from Amazon.com
Kindle ASIN: B01A7JEV6M
Print length: 236 pages

The publication record and its associated title records were further edited by User:Juliotangos -- see submissions 2924404, 2924981, 2954250 and 2981478. The last message left on User talk:Juliotangos, which I wrote on March 6, 2016, is:

I have put your submissions that aim to delete 5 publication records on hold. I saw your note that you would like to delete them for personal reasons, but our data deletion policy states that:
  • Like other major bibliographic sites, the ISFDB doesn't delete publications/titles that are known to have been published.

Specifically, the 2016-03-06 submission that would have deleted this publication record is 2971562. The "Deletion Reason" field says "deleting it from Amazon as well; personal".

Before we proceed, let me first ask whether you are the same person as User:AndyEchevarria and User:Juliotangos. Ahasuerus (talk) 21:19, 27 September 2022 (EDT)

P.S. I have found yet another "Delete Publication" submission for this publication, this time by User:Juliotangos15, who also claims to be the author. Ahasuerus (talk) 15:01, 5 October 2022 (EDT)

I have researched the history of this publication record and entered my findings in the Note field of the publication record. At different times, multiple users claiming to be the author have stated that:
  • the author was deleting this book from Amazon for personal reasons
  • the books were published by mistake
  • the author wrote the book but did not publish it, nor did he send it out to be reviewed
  • the book was published by someone who hacked into the author's Amazon account
It's not clear whether someone is trying to impersonate the author and have this book deleted or whether the author is trying to have them deleted using multiple user accounts and multiple different versions of what happened. In either case, as per ISFDB:Policy, we do not delete books that are known to have been published. submission 5434789 and submission 5434793 have been rejected.
