The "About the author" for the book Some of My Best Friends says that the author is 50 (hence born c. 1919), first went to P.S. 93 in Brooklyn (New York), then Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, Long Island, and graduated from the Brooklyn Methodist School of Nursing. She married a doctor, had two daughters (Jan and Erika), studied Henry George, semantics, hypnosis, philosophy, comparative religions, and earned a degree in psychology from Queens College in Flushing, N. Y. in 1961.
