Sex of author

The current article states 'According to "Novels in English by women, 1891-1920: a preliminary checklist", by Janet Grimes, Diva Daims, & Doris Robinson, Garland Publishing, 1981, the author is a woman.'

However, M. Dudbroke appears in the "Second Series" of Grimes et al., which they explain (p. viii) contains work by "anonymous or pseudonymous authors... whose sex we have been unable to identify".

I therefore suggest changing the text of the page to read as follows:

Unidentified pseudonym.

The name "M. Dudbroke" is listed in the "second series" of authors in "Novels in English by women, 1891-1920: a preliminary checklist", by Janet Grimes, Diva Daims, & Doris Robinson, Garland Publishing, 1981. However, the editors explain that the second series contains work by "anonymous or pseudonymous authors... whose sex we have been unable to identify". This source therefore offers no information on the sex of M. Dudbroke.

In "Science Fiction: The Early Years" (Everett Bleiler, Kent State University Press, 1990), Bleiler suggests (p. 210) that the author was "Probably British. Perhaps a biologist or medical man."

I will update the text on the page in a few weeks unless anyone has any objections.
