In such cases, you need to add the new cover and then remove the old one from the book (two separate steps) and then once the new cover record exists, they need to be varianted to each other. Editing Verified Publications

The Stars Blue Yonder

When the fields are greyed out, that means that there is more than one book using this title record. In such cases, you need to add the new cover and then remove the old one from the book (two separate steps) and then once the new cover record exists, they need to be varianted to each other. About your note here - as none of the PVs is active, we can only do two things:

  • Add a note explaining the discrepancy in the date and the source of the date you are proposing
  • Just add a note that the date is suspect without speculating about a new date (with as much details as possible)

Chances are that it was a bad copy/paste - but without the PVs around, we really cannot re-verify. Annie (talk) 16:37, 10 April 2023 (EDT)
