:Well, as I stated above, we need the binding type (digest, tp, quarto, bedsheet, etc., use the link I gave in the original message to see the different bindings) and the page count. That's all. Sorry about the system's user interface.  I admit it's difficult to learn, but the best way to learn how to use it is to use it.  There's also dozens of help pages that we don't expect people to read completely before they start editing.  That's why the most important ones are linked in the Welcome section above. I can't quite figure out if dates should be entered the same way in the content data as they are entered for the whole zine. Your help is not clear on that point. I entered the dates for the content material for the Walpurgisnacht 2010 HUNGUR (May 2010) as May 2010. Should each date for each story/poem/article/artwork have been entered as 2010-05-00 instead?

Welcome!

Hello, RHFay, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! BLongley 23:31, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Dates of contents for Tales of the Talisman

I accepted the submission adding the contents to this pub (thanks), but wonder why the contents were dated 2009-00-00, when the issue is dated 2009-03-00. Ordinarily when either creating or updating a magazine or other container pubs, the contents will be the same date of the pub (unless it reprints contents). The system will automatically date the contents the same as the pub if you leave the date field of the contents blank. Any particular reason why these contents would not be the same date of the pub? Thanks. Mhhutchins 01:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Another question: could you supply further data for this issue? I'm assuming you have the pub in hand and can determine the binding and page count. Standards for entries in these fields can be found here. Thanks again. Mhhutchins 01:13, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Additional Data for TALES OF THE TALISMAN

What additional data do you need for this zine? Please be specific.

I have said this before, and I will say it again, your system isn't the easiest thing for a casual user to use.

Oh, and the date of the pub is the same as the date of the individual entries. I probably messed up entering the publication date. (Also, some pubs have Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter issues.)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by RHFay (talkcontribs) .

Dates in Content Data

I can't quite figure out if dates should be entered the same way in the content data as they are entered for the whole zine. Your help is not clear on that point. I entered the dates for the content material for the Walpurgisnacht 2010 HUNGUR (May 2010) as May 2010. Should each date for each story/poem/article/artwork have been entered as 2010-05-00 instead?
