Welcome!

Hello, Luminist, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Ahasuerus 03:09, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Images hosted on www.luminist.org

Hi, and welcome. Thank you for the proposed contributions. I have put your submissions on hold while I ask you about the links to the cover images. The Luminist League website (http://www.luminist.org/) is not among the sites that have explicitly granted us permission to link to images they host. See Help:Screen:EditPub#ImageURL for the list and ISFDB:Image_linking_permissions for details about getting/recording permission. If you can obtain permission (or are in a position to grant it), we can use the links as you have them. Otherwise, they can be uploaded to our server, and we can link the records to those uploaded copies instead. Let me know how you'd like to proceed (you can reply here by editing this section; indent your response by starting the line off with a colon (":"). Thanks! --MartyD 11:57, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

I am the chief executive officer of the Luminist League, and owner of record of the web site www.luminist.org. I hereby grant permission to the ISFDB to link to images from our site. Luminist 01:42, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I will add it to our list and to our auto-crediting, and I'll move those submissions along. --MartyD 11:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Images provided by the Luminist Web site are now automatically credited accordingly. Thanks! Ahasuerus 07:26, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

The Wheel story length

I've accepted your submission for The Wheel. I made a couple of small changes to match our standards ("pamphlet" -> "ph", added "$" to the price). But now I have a question for you about the length. Is it really a novel of 40,000+ words? For anything shorter than that, we would record it as a "CHAPTERBOOK" (chapbook) containing a single work of SHORTFICTION with an appropriate length designation on that (SHORTSTORY: 0-7500, NOVELETTE: 7500-17500, NOVELLA: 17500-40000). See Help:Screen:EditPub#PubType and Help:Screen:EditPub#Length for some details (and more elsewhere on that whole page). If it's shorter than 40,000 words, and you let me know the length, I can fix it up so you can see the result. You're of course quite welcome to try your hand at it, too. Thanks for contributing. --MartyD 11:34, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
