I was using Yandex reverse mage search to find some info when I came across this book listed on a Russain website [https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bukinist.in.ua%2Feng%2Fantiques%2Fview%2F3448 here]

It's a very strange book published by Melor, 1997.

Seemingly by Eric Frank Russell and Desmond Begley titles "The Flaming Universe" but the text then goes on to say that it is infact three novels by Andre Norton - The Burning Universe; The Cage and Last Chance.

None of those "novels" appear under the listing for Norton.

: 1997 in the ex-Soviet republics? It can be anything. Let me see what I can find out :) [[User:Anniemod|Annie]] 04:57, 27 May 2020 (EDT)

:: That turned to be much easier than I thought. [https://fantlab.ru/edition41966 FantLab] to the rescue. Noone knows why these two authors were added on the cover. Not unusual for the times in Eastern Europe (you should have seen some of the editions in my first library...).

:: In fact it is an omnibus of 3 Norton novels: "Moon of Three Rings", "Iron Cage" and "Yurth Burden" - under somewhat creative Russian names. I will add the book to our DB in the morning now that we mentioned it :)

:: If you find anything else weird on a site in an Eastern or Central European language, feel free to post on my Talk page (or here) - I can do some digging pretty easily. :) [[User:Anniemod|Annie]] 05:06, 27 May 2020 (EDT)

This page is for discussing how the ISFDB:Community Portal page should be organized, or what should go on it. Actual subjects of general community discussion go on the project page itself.

To leave a comment or question click the "+" that's the right of "edit" above. You will be prompted to enter a subject and your message. Please sign the end of your message with four tildes, ~~~~, which will generate a name/date signature.

archiving

I ageree that the CP needed to be archived, but I think that threads that had discussion within, say, the last week might reasoanbly have been allowed to reamain un archived. -DES Talk 00:56, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

I used to look at and think about every thread when archiving but that time figured I'd just whack out everything that was not actively under discussion. One week seems reasonable though. I thought there was a auto-archive thing that can do this? I'd like to unleash it on CP plus all of the main discussion areas listed at the top of CP. Note, I no longer have time to patrol the recent-changes meaning I only notice and end up replying to things like this by chance. Marc Kupper (talk) 08:07, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
There are auto-archive bots active on wikipedia. i don't hsve the scripts to any. They might or might not be adaptable here, but I really don't think we need them. -DES Talk 21:06, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Online/Offline status

For those that might have been wondering where I have been recently, I thought I would try to add a comment to address that (I am not sure this is the right place for such a thing and to be honest I am not sure I am in the best state of mind to care much at the moment). In the middle of last week I was notified I was being cut from my job and I have been dealing with that and in not much of a state of mind for working on ISFDB. I do hope to get back to such things but it might take me a while to get to such a place (however if I cannot find a replacement job soon it might mean I have more time here--we shall see). Thanks. It's probably the wrong place, but as I've been in a similar position for a year now you have my sympathies. BLongley 23:04, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
