Welcome!

Hello, JudgeDeadd, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -DES Talk 01:03, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Publications in different languages

Hi. I accepted your submission of Podróż Czechowa, but I made a small change. Rather than adding publications in different languages to the English title (Chekov's Journey, in this case) as we used to do, we are now adding titles in the same language and making those titles variants of the work's original language. So I created the Polish title for this publication and then made it a variant of the English. If you look at the Chekov's Journey link above or Ian Watson's bibliography, you can see how it comes out. Thanks, and thank you for contributing. --MartyD 10:50, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Bajtek

Please add the correct pub format/binding to this record. Thanks. Mhhutchins|talk 01:48, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Done. But the page Help:Entering non-genre magazines suggests this is unnecessary ("Leave the "Pub Format" field blank"). JudgeDeadd 08:19, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
That help page was created back when "Pub Format" was optional. Apparently it wasn't updated when the field was converted to a drop-down list. I'll go ahead and remove the offending line. Thanks for identifying the problem! Ahasuerus 13:56, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Эллинский секрет

Re: "Эллинский секрет", could you please review this discussion? Thanks! Ahasuerus 13:52, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

So I understand I should transliterate the author names? OK, will do JudgeDeadd 15:01, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
That's right. However, I would advise to go easy on Cyrillic submissions until we improve support for non-Latin names. I expect to get it done within the next few months, at which point we will need to convert... let me check... 810 author names. Ahasuerus 15:31, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
I see. Then I'll hold off on submitting this until all technical details are fixed. JudgeDeadd 17:04, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
