Welcome!

Hello, Yobunny, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 15:33, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Moonbeams

I've accepted the submission to add a record for this title, but have had to make several changes in order for it to comply with ISFDB standards. You'll find links in the Welcome section to the help pages.

  1. The author's name was changed from "B.J. Morgan" to "B. J. Morgan", adding a space between the first and second initials.
  2. The date was changed from "2012-00-00" to "2012-02-06" based on the Amazon.com listing. We try to be as specific as possible.
  3. The binding format was changed from "pb" to "tp" as it appears from the Amazon listing that this is a trade paperback (8 in. / 20 cm tall).
  4. The URL for the cover image was changed from the unauthorized link to a server for which we have not received permission to "deep-link". I gave a link to the image on Amazon's server, one for which we have permission.
  5. I added the source for the data in the note field. If you have a copy of the book, you can remove the source note and do a primary verification of the record (see the link in the Welcome section).

Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 15:42, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Moonbeams - Thank you!

Thank you for sorting my submission out for me. I'm struggling with the wiki format a little, and realised after I'd submitted the details that I'd not quite got it right. The image link I included is perfectly correct as it's my link on my webspace and I am the owner of Yobunny Enterprises the book's publisher, and I am also the cover designer, so permission is granted for its use on both counts. I do have several copies of the book (as you might now have guessed! :)) so will explore the source note you have mentioned. We also have a Kindle version of the same title, but I wasn't sure if I should include that as a separate record, or even include it at all. Perhaps you could advise me? Many thanks. You're welcome. The Kindle version should be entered as a separate record. You can clone the one that's already in the database, which will save you quite a bit of time and submissions. Go to the record and click on "Clone This Pub" under the editing tools menu. On the next screen make all the applicable changes to the record. In the Binding field enter "ebook" and in the Note field enter the formats: kindle, epub, mobi, etc. If the ebook isn't paginated leave the page count field blank, and make a note that it's unpaginated in the Note field. If the ISBN is different, make sure to change that. If the ISBN is not stated in the ebook, leave the field blank. About the cover image link, you can change the URL back if you like, but be aware that each time the ISFDB record is accessed, it will draw bandwidth from your server (that's what "deep-linking" does, and some websites don't like to do that because they consider it bandwidth theft.) Thanks again. Mhhutchins 19:34, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
