Welcome!

Hello, Willozz, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 16:31, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Le livre des crânes

Hello. I've rejected your submission because there is already a record for the french translation of this title, see here. In this case it's much more easier to use the item "Add publication to this title" (it's on the left of the screen, uder the "Editing Tools" heading), it will avoid a later merging phase. Note that the ISFDB can now handle titles in French (or any other language) so there's no need to add another NOVEL content (in english) to a NOVEL in french as you've done. Same for _L'univers est à nous_ where, in this case, the entire record for the OPTA tp is already present here. Hauck 16:39, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Les soleils noirs d'Arcadie

I've accepted your submission for this title (but corrected the capitals as per french usage). The result is here, you can now add the préface (it's an "ESSAY"-type entry), a scan of the cover (with the hyperlink "Upload cover scan") and, if you want and have a copy of the book, become the primary verifier of the book by using "Verify this pub" (it means that future questions about this publication will asked to you). Vermilion sands ou le paysage intérieur

I've been forced to cancel your submission because of the fact that you entered two "COLLECTION"-type entries in one, this leading to two titles pointing to the same publication. You could instead clone this pub, but it's perhaps a task to save for later. Hauck 16:55, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Changing data in already verified publications

I've rejected your submissions to change the page counts of _Eclipse ou le Printemps de Terre XII_ & _La rose_ on two grounds. First, when changing data already verified, the PV (Primary Verifier) or PVs (the names listed in the "Verification Status" zone) should be notified beforehand, this being standard ISFDB etiquette (note that for adding data, individual preferences of the PVs vary), in this case, you should have asked me first. Second, the number of pages entered in the ISFDB is defined as being "the last printed page number" (see this help screen. For the Harness book the last numbered page is, as I've entered it, #238 (the AI and other details don't count). Same for the Douay where the last page is numbered 250 (blank & unnumebred pages don't count either). Note also that a story begins at the title page, in case of Harness at the pages that I've indicated and not 2 pages later. Hauck 17:06, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Un monde en morceaux

Please look at this publication, you'll see that there's no use to add a second "NOVEL"-type content (the one in english). The extraneous novel should be removed (with "Remove Titles From This Pub") and the title (it means that you'll have to work at the title level here which is still given as being in english) should be varianted with the original with "Make This Title a Variant Title or Pseudonymous Work". The result should look a bit like this. Hauck 17:13, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Haut les coeurs !

Please don't be deterred by all the information that I've try to impart to you in such a short time, there is a certain learning curve for the ISFDB that is sometimes quite steep. Don't hesitate to consult the help pages or ask any questions. The ISFDB being an english-spoken zone, you can mail to me directly in french if necessary at this adress (herve <point> hauck <at> laposte <point> net). Hauck 17:20, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
