Welcome!

Hello, Janiceg, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! PeteYoung 03:22, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Your author updates and Janthology

Hi Janice, welcome to ISFDB. I've put your submissions on hold pending a couple of queries.

Re: your author updates, your two submissions seem to counter each other. Do you want your full birthdate to be visible? See our Help page Author Data for concise data entry information.

Re. Janthology, is this publication downloadable anywhere? Apart from the data entry issues (for which see the New Publication help page), at the moment purely as a webpage/webzine it doesn't fit into the ISFDB's Rules of Acquisition: see particularly #1 and #11 on the list. An e-publication would at least first need to be downloadable as a PDF fanzine from a reliable source (perhaps from efanzines.com).

However I also have doubts that personal promotional material such as this is strictly eligible. We do have DUFF/TAFF related material indexed already, however these are in the form of articles/essays, etc. I'll raise a question about this on our Moderator Noticeboard. Thanks. It's been more than a week and I've not yet received a reply, so I am going ahead and accepting your edit to add your birth date to your author data and bibliography as that was the second edit you submitted, and I have added your website that you also submitted in your first edit, which I have rejected in favour of the second. With regard to your submission to add the webzine as a publication, I have had to reject that edit as web-only publications are not a type of publication the ISFDB can accept at present under the Rules of Acquisition I linked to above.
Please let me know if your author data looks acceptable to you. Thanks for contributing Janice, and we look forward to seeing some more edits from you. PeteYoung 05:32, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
