Kim Sheard left corporate life in 2008 and now spends half her work day walking dogs and the other half writing. She is published in a variety of genres, including nonfiction, Christian, romance, and science fiction, where she got her start as a professional writer with two wins in the Star Trek Strange New Worlds contests in 1999 and 2000. You can find her other science fiction/fantasy tales in New Writings in the Fantastic, Expanded Horizons, Beyond Centauri, WomanScapes, and Continuum Science Fiction.

Kim lives in a suburb of Washington, D.C. with her husband Henry and their dog Freckles. In addition to writing, she enjoys making music by singing and playing handbells, flute, and occasional percussion.
