Welcome!

Hello, Wonder al, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!Kraang 03:05, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

24th printing of I Will Fear No Evil

I rejected the submission changing the date of this publication to 1971. The price and printing would indicate a publication date of 1979 or 1980. The first printing was in 1971. Unless it states specifically the printing date we use "0000-00-00" to indicate an unknown publication date. Thanks. MHHutchins 03:20, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Image linking

Hi, I had to change the link you used "Image:THCHRSLDSL1974.jpg to this {http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/a/a1/THCHRSLDSL1974.jpg}. The correct link is the URL found by right clicking the uploaded image "Image:THCHRSLDSL1974.jpg""[2] and then using the URL found under "Properties". Hope this helps. Thanks for editing.Kraang 03:39, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

'Salem's Lot, Illustrated Edition

Hi. I approved your 'Salem's Lot, Illustrated Edition submission and had a couple of minor comments about it for you.

  • The Price field should have a single price; $US if provided, otherwise whatever the country of publication's price is (e.g., £ if published in the UK). Additional prices should be recorded in the notes. See Help:Screen:EditPub#Price for more details and reasoning for this. So I changed "$35 US/$50 Can" to "$35.00" and moved the "$50 Can" to the notes.
  • Roman numerals for the forepages should be in lower case (I told you the comments were minor!), so I changed "IX" to "ix" for the introduction. See Help:Screen:EditPub#Page.
  • I noticed we have another edition of the Illustrated Edition. You may want to look at it, as it lists some other content items. Anyway, it was set up under the 'Salem's Lot title (with just the publication reflecting the ", Illustrated Edition"). It seemed yours should be treated consistently with that, so I merged yours into that title, as you'll see. If anyone concludes 'Salem's Lot, Illustrated Edition should be a title in its own right, we can do that with both of them.

If you have any questions about any of this, please ask. Thanks for contributing! --MartyD 11:48, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Isis

I accepted your submission creating a new publication to this title, but made some small additions. Chapterbooks are considered "container" publications (like collections and anthologies). Thus contents must be entered individually. I assume this is a publication of the 2006 novella, so I added a record as a content in the publication. I also added a link to Amazon for the cover image, added the exact date of publication based on Amazon's date, and added credit for the interior art by Glenn Chadbourne. Thanks for contributing.
