Welcome!

Hello, Sekmet, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --Marc Kupper|talk 23:59, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

War in Heaven

Hello - I have some comments on your submission for War in Heaven by Charles Williams.

  • We enter publication titles using standard title case. Rather than "WAR IN HEAVEN" it would be "War in Heaven". Please see the "Case" section of Template:PublicationFields:Title.
  • Ar you sure the publisher is Eeedmans? I would expect Eerdmans.
  • We enter the page count with just the numbers and not "256 pp.". Please see Template:PublicationFields:Pages.
  • We don't use a binding code of "tpb". I suspect you mean tp. Please see Template:PublicationFields:PubFormat.
  • The ISBN you entered is fine but I see we have this record for ISBN 0-8028-1219-8. A difference between what you entered and that record is you reported the cover artist as Jim Lamb where that record has Willem Mineur.
  • You entered the price as "?". Please see Template:PublicationFields:Price for what we normally enter in the price field.

You can see the help for all of the publication fields at Help:Screen:EditPub.

One other comment - I believe you used the "New Novel" function. If a story is already in ISFDB it's better to use either "Add Publication to This Title" from a title record for the story. In your case you would start at War in Heaven and look over the list of publications to see if any seem to match what you have. If none do, then usually it's better go to a publication that seems to be the best fit and to use the "Clone This Pub" function. For example, from WRNHVNZBHG1991 had you use "Clone This Pub" then the only thing that would need to be changed is the cover artist. --Marc Kupper|talk 01:02, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Sekmet, I'm going to reject the current submission as I think it'll be easier to do it again using cloning. One other comment is that you had a note "Published the year after the omnibus The Novels of Charles Williams was as the first single title printing in the US" but did not give a source for this. Was that something that's stated in the publication? Here's the submission data:
