Welcome!

Hello, Prova, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 17:20, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Sabriel

Hello, I've rejected your submission. Apart from the fact that it's the other way round (the Catalan _Sabriel_ is a variant of the English one), experience has proved that it's better to start by entering the physical book and then variating its title to the canonical one. That's why I advise you to start by entering one book (as per the point 2 of the help above). Then, if need arises I'll be avaliable to help you. Hauck 17:25, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, I attempted to add the Catalan one as a variant of the English one, but it seems I screwed it up. I will read the help pages to do it properly, thanks. --Prova 23:43, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
No problem, the first additions to the ISFDB are usually the most difficult. As I said, the best method is to have a book in hand and then proceed enter it. Someone will always be there to straighten things if need be. Hauck 08:02, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Your submissions

Hello, I've approved both of your submissions, the result being here and there. I've just added decimals to the price (from €18 to €18.00) and deleted information about the title series (they will be inherited from the parent title when varianted). I've also fixed a known bug when there are two illustrators (don't worry about it). You can now upload a cover scan if you have one (via the Upload cover scan link). To finish the job, you'll have to variant the catalan titles here and there to their english counterparts by using the Make This Title a Variant Title or Pseudonymous Work link and give the title id of the original titles in the top part of the screen (just in case it's 7349 for Lirael and 23658 for Abhorsen). OK, thanks. I didn't upload the covers because I'm not sure if scanning them would be against the copyright. Is there a way to add a new publication and simultaneously set it as a variant of another one? --Prova 23:18, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
For your first question, as long as you stay under 600 pixels large and 150 kb it's considered "fair use" so licit. For your second, the answer is no, it's a two way process because the title to be varianted is created in the first stage and is therefore not "existing" beforehand when you submit so the the system has nothing to variant with. El portal dels elfs

Hello, I have your submission on hold as I have a question: what is the source of the price (€15.00)? It's not on or in the printed book, so we'd need a secondary source and add that to the notes. Thanks! MagicUnk (talk) 06:02, 9 November 2022 (EST)
