PREFERENCES FOR NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES TO PRIMARY VERIFIED RECORDS
  • If you've come here to inform me that you wish to make any change to a record I've verified, please click HERE and add it to the bottom of the list. A link to the pub record would be appreciated. You can proceed to make the submission.

Thanks. Susan

Welcome!

Hello, Ofearna, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 00:54, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Rat Tales

Would you mind double checking the credit for the story on page 39 of Rat Tales? We are currently showing the second author as by his full name (including middle name) with a variant to his 'normal' name. The author is claiming he never used his full name in publication. If you could double check if this is a database error or the author is mistaken, it would be appreciated. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:27, 20 June 2021 (EDT)

I'm moving a ton of books around... when Rat Tales pops back up, I'll check it ! Susan O'Fearna 14:42, 20 June 2021 (EDT)

Malefic

Hi Susan. Can you check the essay on page 7 of Malefic? Is it really credited to "Miguelanx Prado" or is it "Miguelanxo Prado". In any case, it should be varianted to Paisajes con Figura. Thanks, --Willem 15:14, 22 November 2021 (EST)

Everdark Cursed

Hello,

I had to reject this one - books more than 90 days in the future are not eligible to be added per our ROA (and any time we make an exception, we end up spending a lot of time updating the book because schedules change and things get shifted, renamed, change covers and what's not). Additionally, a primary verification means you have the book so even if you decide to add in a few months when it is closer to the date, please do not verify until you actually GET the book :)

PS: Hope you are feeling somewhat better! Annie 21:34, 17 February 2022 (EST)

I did pre-order it and I have the ARC, but OK... we'll wait :-) - you can read the user page here to see latest update on local medical establishment trying to KILL me Susan O'Fearna 21:48, 17 February 2022 (EST)
Well... if you verify from an ARC, that needs to be mentioned in the notes because books change between ARCs and actual publications. And even with an Arc, the 90 days rule apply - ARC is not a publication under our standards technically :)
That's why I said that I hope you are feeling better - I saw your notes there :) Annie 22:05, 17 February 2022 (EST)
When it is closet to release my pre-order will send me a notification; I'll wait till then to add it (again) Susan O'Fearna 22:09, 17 February 2022 (EST)
If you ping me, I can resurrect this submission as well. I just cannot approve it now. :) Annie 22:10, 17 February 2022 (EST)
the book is now officially out not just that ARC not sure if this is what you mean by ping you... Susan O'Fearna 23:22, 19 August 2022 (EDT)

Kitty's Big Trouble / cover image

My copy of Kitty's Big Trouble uses a metallic yellow ink for the title on cover. The image you uploaded appears to be a non-metallic ink. What does your book show? --Glenn 15:27, 5 March 2022 (EST)

hah, see, I finally checked! metallic ink, just a pain to scan so I used the one from amazon Susan O'Fearna 00:51, 20 August 2022 (EDT)

Bell's Beauty and the Steel Beast

Hi Susan -

I'm going to add a disambiguator ("[2]") to the second instance of Julie Bell's "Beauty and the Steel Beast" in this publication. This is how we usually handle multiple instances of artwork with the same title. It will also prevent the software from trying to merge this title with its parent. Thanks. --Ron ~ RtraceTalk 16:54, 19 March 2022 (EDT)

cool Susan O'Fearna 19:31, 19 March 2022 (EDT)
upon review, it's the same piece of art with the same title appearing 3 durn times Susan O'Fearna 23:25, 19 August 2022 (EDT)

Nevermore

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?577429; I imported contents to the TP edition because there's a copy on Archive.org and added the Morrell bonus story mentioned in the note here; I also discovered 1 title (by Uwe Sommerlad) and 3 names (Weekes, Rhoads, and Petersen) were entered incorrectly, so I fixed those. --Username 07:55, 28 April 2022 (EDT)

Cool, I'll look those over after work... Susan O'Fearna 09:42, 28 April 2022 (EDT)

Art of John Bolton

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/view_submission.cgi?5353251; Awaiting approval for this edit. I added 2 Archive links and the price, and fixed cover art date which I assume was a mistake. There are other prices on the back cover but since I'm not sure what country some of them are I didn't enter those, in case you want to. --Username 09:34, 1 July 2022 (EDT)

LMK when your edit is liked and I'll find my copy and check it against... Susan O'Fearna 17:27, 9 July 2022 (EDT)
It was approved on July 4; http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pub_history.cgi?460285. --Username 18:17, 9 July 2022 (EDT)

Way Wavy

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?1885284; I changed it to "Wavy" since that's what it says in the alternate title. --Username 13:17, 9 July 2022 (EDT)

Perfect, it must still be pending b/c it now says WAY, silly typos Susan O'Fearna 17:25, 9 July 2022 (EDT)
Yes, when I write notes to people my edits are sometimes still awaiting approval. Also, you seem to have PV other Jim Warren art books, so I noticed Nosfaratu, which should probably be Nosferatu, and MagicatsII which should probably be Magicats II. Those are the only ones I noticed, but I didn't do a thorough search and didn't do edits to fix them. --Username 18:03, 9 July 2022 (EDT)

Ceremonies

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?2264; I just added OL link to the Bantam copy on Archive.org, and the other non-PV Bantam edition, entered by you in 2016, has the same date but a higher price. Is it possible that was a mistake, in which case that edition could be deleted since the correctly priced edition is here and PV by 2 people? EDIT: I noticed your ISBN is different, too, but it doesn't seem to lead to Klein's book on Amazon and elsewhere, regardless of what it says on their pages, but rather some book called Maximum Impact by Jean Heller, so I have no real clue what's up. --Username 21:11, 20 July 2022 (EDT)

Amaranth

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?437475; Should publisher be this, http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/publisher.cgi?47539? Editor also edited all of those magazine issues. --Username 08:58, 27 July 2022 (EDT)

Possibly, I just entered it from the copyright blurb Susan O'Fearna 15:17, 4 August 2022 (EDT)

Tomorrow, June 1996

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?61792; I added stories' # using copy on Archive.org, added Archive link, corrected Carrabis name to how it appears on story page, and added some notes. --Username 14:53, 5 August 2022 (EDT)

The Urban Fantasy Anthology

I approved your submission creating The Urban Fantasy Anthology ebook. I removed the tp ISBN. What are you trying to do with the page numbers? Please fix. John Scifibones 12:56, 18 August 2022 (EDT)

it's an ebook with the same ISBN as the print edition, but there are of course no page numbers so I used the % location... Susan O'Fearna 16:56, 18 August 2022 (EDT)
The ebook does not have the same ISBN as the print edition. According to the publisher, the ISBN for the ebook is 9781616960629. From the help section for content tile page numbers, "Unpaginated publications, like ebooks or audio recordings. In these cases, enter the pipe first and then proceed to number each content in the order in which they appear. Will you make the corrections or do you prefer that I do it? John Scifibones 17:17, 18 August 2022 (EDT)
the copyright screen on the ebook has the ISBN I entered, but if there's a different one at their website, excellent! Susan O'Fearna 22:30, 18 August 2022 (EDT)
Approved, Thank you. John Scifibones 09:30, 19 August 2022 (EDT)

Tales from Plexis

I'm holding this submission which would make the series part of the pub title. The author's webpage clearly shows what is the series and what is the title. John Scifibones 15:01, 22 August 2022 (EDT)

Weird Business

http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?594444; Archive copy from 2011 so I added a link and also added intro by Lansdale. --Username 13:41, 4 September 2022 (EDT)

Master of Fantasy Art

I recently acquired a pub with the same title, Master of Fantasy Art, but with a different publisher. I found the copyright information on the page following the introduction. Does it also appear there in your pub? Bob (talk) 18:27, 8 September 2022 (EDT)
