Hi, I have a number of submissions from you on hold where you change the cover art credit, without giving any source for the new information. I already had to change a submission where you credited the interior art artist as cover artist (Ubik) plus had to supply the price and number of pages, so I like to make a point: please enter data so it can be checked and enter as complete as possible.--Dirk P Broer 08:03, 16 March 2020 (EDT)

: What's up lad. I have an existent database (a spreadsheet, really) which I put together a little while ago, with designers and illustrators for book covers. I don't really want to look up all those source again, but I'll try if its easily found information. All the data is as correct as I could find. I forgot to add the price and page number before I submitted, but I figured I would go back and add that after it was approved. Also the Ubik cover is in fact designed by the same artist as the interior. I resubmitted that change already, with a source. Murmuration 13:32, 16 March 2020 (EDT)

:: No doubt it is correct, I just want to be able to verify it. I can't see your blue eyes from here -if you have any. I looked up the The Folio Scociety's Ubik and only found the artist mentioned as interior artist, plus a description of what the cover looks like and from what material it was made. For at least two other covers I managed to find a website containing the art in question -The Handmaid's Tale was a very good one, as the publisher keeps printing the original artist on the back cover.--Dirk P Broer 17:36, 16 March 2020 (EDT)

Welcome!

Hello, Murmuration, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Jens Hitspacebar 06:23, 19 November 2017 (EST)

Hyperion cover artist

Hi, welcome and thanks for contributing to this site. Your submission for the cover artist of Hyperion was not entirely correct: we only credit the cover artist, not the company, therefore the correct cover artist is "Charles Brock", not "Faceout Studio/Charles Brock". The best way to find out if an artist already exists is to search for it in the database before making the submission while keeping possible middle names and pseudonyms in mind. Which means if you don't find an exact match for an author name use wildcards in the search term, like this: "*Charles*Brock*".

I made the necessary change already which you can see here. Thanks again, and happy contributing :) Jens Hitspacebar 06:43, 19 November 2017 (EST)
