Welcome!

Hello, Mbuscemi, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:41, 12 January 2019 (EST)

Thank you! --Mbuscemi 11:51, 12 January 2019 (EST)

Image Links

We can only link to external images on sites for which we have permission (see ISFDB:Image linking permissions for details, including which sites). I have replaced your Matthew Buscemi image with the same one from Amazon as that is a site for which we have permission. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:41, 12 January 2019 (EST)

Understood. Sorry about that. I'll mind the image policy in the future. --Mbuscemi 11:51, 12 January 2019 (EST)

Stories Duplicated

JLaTondre: It looks as though, when my recent collection Transmutations was added, duplicate entries were created for all of my short stories. Who can help me correct this? --Mbuscemi 03:46, 17 March 2019 (EDT)

Your Publications

You give two different names as publisher, sometimes Matthew Buscemi Publications, and other times without the word "Publications". Please select one or the other for all of your pubs. Bob 20:41, 5 September 2020 (EDT)

Some further clarification. While we do record 'as it appears in the pub', for publishers we allow for a certain level of standardization. In this case, I would suggest that for your self-published books (I assume they are mostly self-published, yes?) you choose a publisher name that appears most often in your publications, and standardize on that. Hope that helps. Regards, MagicUnk 11:23, 6 September 2020 (EDT)

Before 2017, my publishing concern was called "Fuzzy Hedgehog Press." From 2017 onward, it is "Matthew Buscemi Publishing." Anything otherwise is a mistake on my part. I do not consider myself to be "self-publishing" except in the literal sense of the words. Unfortunately, that term has become loaded with additional meanings that do not apply to me. The Shipwright and Other Stories

Hello. I've accepted your submission, but had to make a few changes:

  • Format: pb is only for paperbacks with sizes 7" x 4.25" or smaller. As Amazon has this as 8" tall, I've updated the format to tp (the ISFDB determines pd vs tp solely based on the dimensions of the actual book - rules here)
  • Price always needs a currency. I've changed the price from 13.99 to $13.99
  • I've also added a note that states where the publication date came from (I've used Amazon), unless the publication date is printed exactly as 2020-09-04 on or in the publication itself?

The result is here. Let me know if it's OK like this.
Oh, and do add the individual titles of your story collection in the Contents section of the publication (you can use the import function for that), that would be appreciated! If you do, you can remove the {{incomplete}} template from the notes that I've added. Regards, MagicUnk 11:19, 6 September 2020 (EDT)
