I have found the Locus, OCLC, ISBNDB, and Amazon listings for the ''Space Cadets'' anthology, and have created a {{T|1014301|title record}}, a publication record for the {{P|SPCCDTSXRB2006|regular edition}}, and one for the {{P|SPCCDTSFXS2006}} limited edition. These both include the Turtledove story.

If you have time, would you take a look at these records, and see if the information appears to be correct? If it matches you copy, you might want to [[Help: How to verify data|verify]] one of the publication records.

I am going to reject your submission, but it did lead to our getting ''Space Cadets'', including the publication of {{T|1011517|"Someone is Stealing the Great Throne Rooms of the Galaxy"}} into our database. Welcome!

Hello, Johnjosephadams, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!Kraang 00:12, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Wastelands: Stories of the Apocalypse

John I see the anthology Wastelands: Stories of the Apocalypse [1] has no contents, would you like to enter the missing titles? If so just click on "Edit This Pub" and in the contents section fill in the missing data. Change the first "Entry Type" from anthology to short fiction in the drop down menu. For dates use this format "1976-07-31" for "July 31, 1976" anything else will be recognized as unknown. If you have any problems I or someone else will be here to help. Thanks for editing.Kraang 00:35, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for adding the contents of Wastelands, which another moderator has approved. If the publication record is now correct and complete, compared to a physical copy in your possession, you can use the "Verify this pub" link to mark it as verified ("Primary" verification, the first in the list of choices, is our term for checking against the actual physical work). This will put the date and your userID ("Johnjosephadams") into the pub record, and will mean that later editors should notify or check with you before changing data on this pub, and will mark it for everyone as having been checked against the actual publication. Again, thanks for your contributions, and I hope to see more of you on this site. -DES Talk 15:31, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Federations

You submitted an edit to change the ISBN of Federations from 978-0-8095-7347-9 to 1-60701-201-4. But there is significant evidence, including an OCLC Fiction Finder record, that a printing with the first ISBN was in fact published. If you, as the editor, know for a fact that only one ISBN was ever used on this anthology, please do let us know so that we can correct the database.

Also, if the dates, page counts or prices of the two printings were different, please let us know of make the change yourself.

I have merged the duplicate records caused by the reprinted content items, as you will see in the listing for either publication. Thank you very much for the detailed contents listing. -DES Talk 23:38, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Oh and do you know who the cover artist was? -DES Talk 23:47, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Mazer in Prison

You submitted a record for the publication of "Mazer in Prison" in Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show. I am afraid i am going to have to reject this submission.

First of all, we are currently not indexing webzines, with a very few limited exceptions, of which Intergalactic Medicine Show is not one. See our [[ISFDB:Policy#Rules of Acquisition}Rules of Acquisition]] Item 15. Part of the reason is that many webzines have no well-defined concept of issue.

But even if we were accepting such submissions there would be some problems with this one. It is of type MAGAZINE but has the title of, and the data for, only a single story. Our MAGAZINE records are designed to index the entire contents of an issue of a magazine. Even if not all contents were being entered, the title would need to be the magazine title, with a content record for the particular story. See Help:Screen:NewPub for more details.

In the mean time, i will enter a note about the IMS publication in the title record of "Mazer in Prison". -DES Talk 02:37, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Someone is Stealing the Great Throne Rooms of the Galaxy

Your submission to add a publication of this short story has, I'm afraid, some problems. You obviously wanted to record the appearance of this story in the anthology Space Cadets in 2006, which we had no record of. However, your submission would have created an anthology with the title of Someone is Stealing the Great Throne Rooms of the Galaxy, and a publisher of "Space Cadets".

I have found the Locus, OCLC, ISBNDB, and Amazon listings for the Space Cadets anthology, and have created a title record, a publication record for the regular edition, and one for the limited edition. These both include the Turtledove story.

If you have time, would you take a look at these records, and see if the information appears to be correct? If it matches you copy, you might want to verify one of the publication records.

I am going to reject your submission, but it did lead to our getting Space Cadets, including the publication of "Someone is Stealing the Great Throne Rooms of the Galaxy" into our database. Thank you. -DES Talk 15:18, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
