Changing the type of a content
When you change the type of a content, it's best to edit the title record, and not try to change the type in a pub edit. For example, this edit and this edit. All of these titles showed up on a cleanup report. Mhhutchins|talk 08:47, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

Forced?
Can you explain why my submission was rejected? Your only comment was "Forced".--Auric 11:19, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- A forced reject means that the submission was not valid from a software perspective. The "Forced" comment is automatically created by the software. This usually occurs when a prior submission makes an edit that is not compatible with a subsequent edit (the one that is a forced reject). The message of "Error: This submission is no longer valid. Title 1968181 is no longer valid." indicates you tried to modify a title record that no longer exists. Without knowing what you were trying to achieve, I don't know the specifics of what happened in this case. However, if you are making multiple edits that impact a pub and it's contents separately, it is best to submit one, wait for it to be approved, and then submit another. Submissions are not necessarily approved in the same order they are submitted. Sorry for not dropping you a note explaining this. -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:35, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
Submission 2968071
Is there a reason why you changed the title of a publication and work to use roman numerals in submission: 2968071? You did not cite your source in the change and though I agree the cover uses roman numerals (for both the main series number as well as the sub series number) and I would rather rename the entire series to adhere to such a naming scheme, my source, the National Diet Library of Japan does not use such. Making a pseudonym / creating a variant

Granny's Wonderful Chair, "The Story of Fairyfoot"
Recently I have worked on Granny's Wonderful Chair (1857) T374042. Minutes ago I submitted date 1857 for "The Story of Fairyfoot" T1377355, which carries 1856 in contrast to all others in the book. Then I canceled, seeing that you primary verified its publication in The Oxford Book of Modern Fairy Tales (1993) P309260. What does that anthology say about its publication?

- I no longer have access to that book, but forgot to flip the verification from primary to transient. I have updated the record. As for the date, it was based on the TOC which can be seen via Amazon Look-Inside. The TOC lists the "original dates". Searching on-line, though, it seems pretty clear the first appearance was in Granny's Wonderful Chair and that is generally dated to 1857. The Oxford Book of Modern Fairy Tales is probably wrong. Assassin's Quest
The verified copy of Assassin's Quest really has 774 pages as there is an excerpt of 'Ship of Magic' at the end. Also there is an uncredited 'Six Duchies' map after the title page. Would you like me to add these to the record? --AndyjMo 11:01, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- Promotional excerpts are optional. I don't bother to record them, but if you wish to add it, feel free. However, the excerpt pages are unnumbered so the page number should be updated as "757+[17]". The map should be added. In both cases, they should be imported from this edition so that they same title records are used for new duplicates created. Weather Eye covers
I asked Vasha77 about the Weather Eye variants I have on hold, and he pointed me to your previous rejection of a proposed merge. At the time that was done, there was no image for the hardcover (the one on the left). Looking at it now, it appears the windmills present on the paperback are part of the cover design overlaid on the painting, not part of the painting itself. Did you see something else? It's a little hard to tell because the Candlewick one seems to be lower resolution. What do you think? --MartyD 12:18, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Hieronymus Bosch covers
The reason I added identifying numbers to those covers is because there are two editions of the same book that use different Bosch paintings. If distinguishing them by numbers is not what I should be doing, what would you prefer? --Vasha 22:13, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- I was in the middle of typing a message on your page ;-). I was going to ask if that was what you were trying to do or if there was something else going on. Since that is what you are doing, I will reject the edits. We do not disambiguate cover art in this fashion. If a given cover artist has multiple artwork with the same title, they are left separate under their original names (same as we would treat two different stories by the same author with same name). Typically, a note is added to each stating that there are multiple images for the same publication title (ex: [3], [4]). Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 22:18, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
