Hello. I have [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/view_submission.cgi?5382294 your submission] on hold, as not all stories have spec fic elements in them. As you have the collection in hand, can you identify which stories are, and which aren't, speculative fiction (sf, supernatural horror, fantasy, ...). Also, is the majority of the contents non-speculative? or rather the reverse? Thanks for providing additional info. Regards, [[User:MagicUnk|MagicUnk]] 10:33, 31 August 2022 (EDT)

Welcome!

Hello, DavidBusboom, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 16:59, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Swords Against Cthulhu

Hello, I've approved your submission (note that it's no use to submit the same data three times). I've tweaked it a bit by adding to the sparse data from notably here : entered precise date (2015-06-21), pub format (tp), ISBN (9781326318048), cover (a bit too large). The result is here. You have now to enter the contents (via the "Edit this pub" link). Hauck 17:07, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Walk Hand In Hand Into Extinction

Based on the Amazon listing, this anthology appears to be a mixed genre publication. As such, under ISFDB standards, only the stories which are speculative fiction are eligible for the database. Can you confirm that all of the contents you've given in the submission are spec-fic (horror, fantasy, science fiction, weird fiction, etc.) and not mystery and/or thrillers without a fantasy element? I will hold your submission until you've had a chance to respond. If you determine that some of the stories are not eligible for the database, I'll accept the submission, but you will have to remove those stories from the publication record, and then delete them for the database. Or you can cancel the submission, and make a new one which includes only the spec-fic contents. This would be my suggestion if you find that the majority are not eligible. It would save much time and effort in deleting the non-eligible titles. Mhhutchins|talk 03:06, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

After a week with no response, I have had to cancel the submission. Please resubmit if you can confirm that the book contains spec-fic. Thanks. Mhhutchins|talk 05:03, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Heroic Fantasy Short Stories

Hello, I have put your submission on hold for that anthology: as there seem to be many problems involved that would need to be adressed upon accepting it (correcting individual items), I ask myself if it wouldn't be better to cancel it and begin anew. (We don't state 'Unknown Author' as author, just 'uncredited', there are many more problems). It's generally better to begin with a more simple publication than an anthology. I'll try to build a new entry from your submission and amazon's information: this way not only the problems addressed above may be circumvented but also the more precise date of publication is cared for and the incorrect NONFICTION (which should be ESSAYs) entries are omitted. Unnerving Magazine

Hello, I've approved your submission but had to make numerous changes to conform to our standards:

  • changed title of the issue from Unnerving Magazine (too generic) to Unnerving Magazine, #5
  • put the title into the correct title series (simply "Unnerving Magazine").
  • deleted Series Num (we do not use this field for magazine).
  • added decimals to price.
  • changed "Aaron Housholder" into "Aaron J. Housholder" (we go by what's on title page of the story, not by what's on toc).
  • changed NONFICTION items into ESSAY (the former is only for book-length works).
  • changed interview credits from "Unnerving Magazine" to simply "uncredited".
  • uploaded a scan of the cover.

The result is here, you can add any other relevant data (e.g. the cover artist). Thanks for contributing. Hauck 02:50, 14 February 2018 (EST)

Nightbird

Hello, I've approved your submission but had to make some changes to conform to our standards:

  • changed type from CHAPBOOK to NOVEL (as per length).
  • changed format to "tp" as per dimensions given by amazon.
  • added decimals to price.
  • added cover scan.
  • changed wording of the notes, if you own a copy of the book, please consider to become its Primary Verifier.

The result is here. Hauck 06:09, 25 February 2018 (EST)

Haunted are These Houses

I accepted your addition of Haunted are These Houses, but made some changes to abide by ISFDB standards:

  • I changed the editor to Eddie Generous alone. Per the Amazon Look Inside, the title page states edits by Generous with selections by Al-Mehairi and Generous. As we credit per the pub, only Generous would go in the editor field. I added the selections information to the pub notes.
  • I changed the format to tp based on the Amazon supplied dimensions. Paperback is for 7" × 4.25" (or smaller).
  • I added the cover art from Amazon. If you plan to upload a cover image, feel free to replace.

Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 18:14, 11 October 2018 (EDT)
