Hi, I saw a nice Peter Jones in Stardance, and found the publication month at Amazon.co.uk--Dirk P Broer 22:26, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Replaced the FF scan for your verified The Year's Best Science Fiction No. 3. Hauck 16:57, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

I have given "Jacks" as cover artist for Strangers from Earth because you do not want "Jeff Jacks". Still seems a bit silly to me, compared with other signatures that are written out to describe who it is, e.g. "F", "PE" or "PAJ". Nowhere I have seen that Jeff Jacks prefers "Jacks" as his artist name.--Dirk P Broer 11:38, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

And I've seen nothing that even confirms a "Jeff". :-/ I may look inconsistent - I have reworked "F" and "PE" and "PAJ" and even "A" for Chris Achilleos - but I do feel there's a distinction between "Initials only" and an "Abbreviated Name" like "Emsh" or "Powers". It's not my specialist area by any means so if the people that care more can clarify the desired rules I'll happily join in. BLongley 22:55, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

I have given "Jacks" as cover artist for The Best of Kuttner 2 as well.--Dirk P Broer 12:18, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Fine by me. BLongley 22:55, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I identified the cover artist of this publication as Eddie Jones, same cover art as the DAW 1974 edition of The Star Road by Gordon R. Dickson, where Eddie Jones is credited.--Dirk P Broer 15:51, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Added a cover artist credit for your verified Gunner Cade, by "Cyril Judd". The photographer credit was listed in the notes, but recent discussions seem to validate putting photographer credits in the cover artist field, so I moved it there from the notes. Chavey 04:51, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

I emailed the Bruce Pennington website asking for confirmation that he painted the cover of Time and Timothy Grenville, which they confirm he did. I have therefore edited the cover credit on that edition - awaiting acceptance of the edit. Nimravus 22:05, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

I added a bit to the notes of The Best of John Wynndham, 1951-1960, adding yet more confusing stuff for these 1975/76/77 re-publications of the original 1973 publication in one part.--Dirk P Broer 16:01, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

I identified the cover artist for Best of Sci-Fi 3. It is credited to Richard Powers, the same artist that did Great Science Fiction Stories (of which Best of Sci-Fi 3 is a variant title). It all started with a search for the artist of Sabotage 1: Ruimteplatform, a mirror image of the original artwork. Thanks to Willem H..--Dirk P Broer 19:44, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I've made this publication part of the Corgi SF Collector's Library.--Dirk P Broer 08:49, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Found the cover artist for The Asutra. It is Jim Burns. Lay out the series next to each other and you get one picture. Center was already credited to Jim Burns.--Dirk P Broer 19:07, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Interesting. I think I'll have a dig around tomorrow and see if I can patch up the full picture - or are you already working on that? BLongley
here! --Dirk P Broer 23:29, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
And here.--Dirk P Broer 23:42, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
OK, you've convinced me! Such evidence shouldn't be hidden away on this sub-talk page though. If you can't find a better place to put it, tell me where it should go - I think such webpages should be linked to Vance and Burns, and maybe the Series, or a Publication Series... please add a Feature Request or several, I enjoy this stuff although it's not my priority. BTW, have you seen ISFDB:Moderator_noticeboard#Proposed_Make_Variant_Submissions? That was mostly your fault... ;-) BLongley 00:45, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Problem is that this piece of art is Coronet-Durdane specific, so for this particular series as trilogy. There is, at present, no page to connect the total artwork to (there are more publishers that have this series). Normally you can tie the original artwork to a cover page (might be nice but perhaps copyright prevents this), and then give all instances of that piece of art. Here the artwork is split over three books. And that is by no means an unique feat. My Granada original Foundation-trilogy has the same: it is a three-split Chris Foss artwork. My two copies of the Complete Venus Equilateral are also complementary to each other. The latest version of the Greg Mandel trilogy also has one continuous artwork: here.--Dirk P Broer 10:19, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Rather than a feature request I handle things like this by using a publication's Bibliographic Comments section page and then will add notes to the various affected publication records pointing to the Bibliographic Comments page. --Marc Kupper|talk 18:55, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

The cover art for [The Other Side of the Sky] is stolen from a PKD book, which is signed by the artist. Added that and a link to the original. --~ Bill, Bluesman 01:11, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Bill: There is no cover artist detailed on The Orphan, which you've verified, but I have the other two books in this edition of the trilogy and there is a back cover artist credit for Gino D'Achille on them both. As the artwork on The Orphan is clearly by the same hand, would it be OK for me to add D'Achille as artist on The Orphan entry? Nimravus 00:20, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

I'd say so - just note that it isn't actually stated, and give your reasoning. Well spotted! BLongley 15:20, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

I've replaced the cover for The Worlds of Robert Heinlein (NEL 1970 with a scan that gives the whole wrap-around picture (kindly liberated from the Bruce Pennington website). --Dirk P Broer 22:32, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

So long as he doesn't mind. I don't suppose you've persuaded his representative(s) to edit here yet? BLongley 01:23, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Bill, added publication month and -via Bibliographic comments- the original artwork for Capitol (Orit / Futura, 1980) by Orson Scott Card. --Dirk P Broer 14:39, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I've added to the notes of Dark Space that cover art / cover design looks a lot that done on the #2 of this series. --Dirk P Broer 15:50, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

User:Nimravus found the cover of your verified Dwellers in the Mirage in an on-line collection of Patrick Woodroffe's works and added the artist credit. I added a note as to the source. --MartyD 10:31, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Your Spock Must Die! had a broken cover image. It had linked to Image:SPCKMSTD1970.jpg. It looks like that image had been uploaded in June 2009, at some point your pub record was updated to use it, and then the image was deleted in December 2010. I decided to fix this by pointing your record to the image for the 1st printing which is the same cover. If you decide to grab the book to double-check you may want to add an essay record for the Author's Note(Spock Must Die!) on page ix. --Marc Kupper|talk 18:51, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

I saw your comment on My Name is Legion that while there is no stated cover artist, you thought it looked like the work of Chris Moore. I emailed him and he confirmed that he was, indeed, the artist. I have therefore submitted a credit for him as the cover artist with an appropriate note as to source. Nimravus 22:17, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

I've updated the artist credit for {{P|5705|Bug-Eyed Monsters to Bruce Pennington. You can see a picture him standing in front of the painting at a recent exhibition here: http://beckenhamschoolart.org/News/bruce-pennnington-bsoa-1960-62 Nimravus 23:36, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Horzel 11:22, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I'm adding some notes to an entry of mine (Resident Evil: Code: Veronica) and I decided to merge a couple of the artist's titles (Stephen Gardner: http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?25954). You entered the second printing of Circus of the Damned and I'm going to merge that artist credit with the first printing as the covers on this site show them to be identical. You can put the kabosh on this if you want. MLB 08:57, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi again. Sorry to bother you, but I found your entry to Exciting Stories of Fantasy and the Future after I had bought a copy and I have posted on Amazon.com here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B001KT79HW/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_all a fold-out of the wrap-around cover. If you like it, please feel free to use it. Also, this book is part of the Falcon Fiction Club series, whatever that is, so, shouldn't Falcon Fiction Club be listed as a publication series? Forgive me if I'm being too forward. Umm, just curious, but who are these writers? They don't seem to have much of a background in speculative fiction. MLB 12:14, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
