::: When I mention verification, I mean the formal process we have [http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/index.php/Help:How_to_verify_data described here]. This signifies that a human with a book at hand had looked over and verified the notes, content and so on. Up to you if you want to do it but it helps the DB. If you had done the work anyway (verified cover, price, content, dates and so on), you may as well click the button. Go to the work [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?624419 here] and look on the left side where the menu links are. You will see a  "Verify This Pub". Click on it. If you own the book, make sure that Permanent is selected and press Verify. If your copy is from a library, change it to Transient. Ignore the secondary verifications under it for now :) Once you do that, edit the note of the publication to remove the line "Data from Amazon.com as of 2017-07-04." - as you are verifying with book at hand (or at your favorite e-reader), the source is now your book and your verification says so. That's it.

Welcome!

Hello, Akua, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Annie 22:24, 4 July 2017 (EDT)

Open Minds

Hello,

I accepted your addition but had to do the following changes:

  • We catalog each format separately so the e-book and the paper book need their own separate records. The price you added looked as if you were trying to add one record for both so I left only the ebook price (as the ASIN belonged to it) and changed the format from unknown to e-book.
  • The price needs to starts with $.
  • Because the book is published after 2007, the ISBN-13 needs to be used instead of the ISBN-10. I changed that based on the look inside in Amazon (showing different ISBNs for the paper book and the e-book)
  • For e-books, unless when paginated specifically (when published as PDFs for example), we leave the number of pages empty and add the print length as a note.
  • I added a note on the content and a link to the cover of the book in Amazon.
  • I added the paper book as a separate entry.

The resulting e-book is here and the paper book is here. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I will also be looking to see if I can find the complete content of the anthology. Annie 23:17, 4 July 2017 (EDT)

Hello again, I added the complete content to both books. If you have the books in hand, you may want to verify them (or the one you have). Let me know if you have any questions. Annie 23:27, 4 July 2017 (EDT)
Thanks so much for your assistance. I hope I've got this right. I did check the author list against my ebook. Cheers, Akua
Happy to help - via mail or here. Being here means you can refer back to it and if I need to step out, another moderator can keep helping.:) Just one more thing: using ~~~~ will get you are signature with a date. If you use less than 4, you will only get parts of it (no date if you use 3).
When I mention verification, I mean the formal process we have described here. This signifies that a human with a book at hand had looked over and verified the notes, content and so on. Up to you if you want to do it but it helps the DB. If you had done the work anyway (verified cover, price, content, dates and so on), you may as well click the button. Go to the work here and look on the left side where the menu links are. That's it.
