Welcome!

Hello, Adrenock, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:02, 12 March 2022 (EST)

Electric Spec, August 31, 2021

I accepted your addition of Electric Spec, August 31, 2021, but had to make some change to match ISFDB standards:

  • Title: Magazine titles should include the issue date.
  • Date: The date should be the full issue date.
  • Price: Free publications are still given a price ($0.00 in this case). No price means the price is unknown.
  • Cover Image: We can only use images from sites that have explicitly given us permission. You are welcome to upload a local image if you wish (see instructions in welcome message above).
  • Editorial: The editorial needed to be included in the contents also.
  • Story Titles: Story titles should be given exactly as credited on their title page.
  • Author Initials: If an author has initials, a spaced should be entered after the period.

We appreciate your submission & hope you will continue to contribute. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning so please check out the help links in the welcome message above. And let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:15, 12 March 2022 (EST)

Titanic Terastructures

I've accepted your submission for this book, but there were a few errors that needed to be corrected:

  • In almost all cases, books published in 2021 will have an ISBN. Here, you included the ASIN (an internal Amazon reference number) in place of the ISBN. Additionally, it was the ASIN for the ebook, not the hardcover. Please be careful to make sure the correct identifiers are used for each entry.
  • Prices should always have the currency indicator. In this case, since the book is priced in US dollars, it needs a $ at the beginning.
  • The ASIN goes in the External IDs section. Select "ASIN" from the drop-down, and then enter the ASIN in the field to the right of that.
  • We generally don't include the "Inc." (or, in this case, the "KB") on the end of publisher names.

I've corrected these for this publication. One other thing that's good to do when entering any anthology or collection (once it's been approved) is to click on the "Check for duplicates" link in the left-side menubar. This will check to make sure there aren't multiple entries for one story under an author's name, and allow you to merge them. There were five in this anthology, and they've now been merged. If you have any questions, please let me know. We're glad you're here, and thanks for taking the time to enter this anthology! ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:03, 18 March 2022 (EDT)
