The Science Fiction Book Club (UK) was formed in 1953 by Sidgwick & Jackson. In order to lessen confusion with the similarly named club operated by Doubleday in the US, the appendix UK has been added, even though that is not their official name. Greg Pickersgill's Science Fiction Book Club Archive contains a history of the club and a list of its monthly selections.
