Paw Prints is an imprint of Baker & Taylor Books (on wikipedia at wikipedia:Baker & Taylor). They manufacture "library binding" editions of works that are available from other publishers in paperback, trade paperback, and sometimes hardcover form. While Paw Prints publications are manufactured for sale to the public library and school markets they are also available on Amazon. Given the quality of the binding and the size of the print runs it is believed they buy book book signatures plus the cover artwork from publishers and then manufacture their own covers and publications.

Paw Prints editions can be identified by the logo that's printed with the ISBN bar code on the back cover of a publication

In April 2011 Baker & Taylor introduced a new logo that's expected to appear on publications starting in the summer of 2011.^[1]

It is known they are using the following ISBN prefixes. The date ranges are from Amazon. As Baker & Taylor reports that they have 40,000 Paw Print titles in print it's likely there are more ISBN ranges or that they did not upload all their 1-4420-xxxx-x and 1-4487-xxxx-x ISBNs to Amazon.

• 1-4352-xxxx-x 8,987 ISBNs used from May 2007 to April 2009.
• 1-4395-xxxx-x 9,902 ISBNs used from June 2008 to September 2009.
• 1-4420-xxxx-x 849 ISBNs used from April 2009 to to August 2009.
• 1-4487-xxxx-x 1 ISBN used in 2009 which happens to be Nebula Awards Showcase: 2009.
• 1-4517-xxxx-x Range in use as of mid-2011 per e-mail from Baker & Taylor.

The publications are "perfect bound" or "cardboard article" bound with stiff cardboard covers with the artwork printed directly to the surface. There is no dust jacket nor stated price.

The interior of Paw Prints publications, including the title and copyright page, are from the original publisher. It is not known if the publisher allocates a "printing number" to Baker & Taylor. As the Paw Prints publications contain the original publisher's copyright page you will likely see the original ISBN and other identification there.

Baker & Taylor has relationships with at least Abdo, Abrams Books for Young Readers, Albert Whitman & Company, American Girl, Boyds Mills Press, Candlewick Press, Capstone Press, Cengage Learning (Greenhaven and Sleeping Bear Press), Charlesbridge, Chronicle Books, Diamond, DK Publishing, EDC, Good Books, Hachette, HarperCollins and Disney (Harper Excel, Disney Excel), Heinemann-Raintree, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Imagine, Innovative, IPG, Kids Can Press, Lerner, Macmillan, Peachtree Publishers, Penguin Young Readers Group, Perseus, Random House Children's Books, Scholastic, Scholastic Library, Silver Dolphin, Simon & Schuster, Sourcebooks, and Sterling Books.^[2] It's believed that we can see "Paw Prints" editions of works from any of those publishers.
