Help talk:Getting Started:Add Publication to Title

Should we add a note about foreign currencies to the Price field or does it not belong under "Getting Started"? Ahasuerus 04:10, 21 Dec 2006 (CST)

Good idea. I've added a short note about British prices; I thought about adding a link to the detailed help but I left it since there's already the link at the top of the page. Do you think more is needed? Mike Christie (talk) 08:23, 21 Dec 2006 (CST)

According to Al's server logs, we have a rather large international (mostly European) audience. OTOH, in the past almost all active editors were from English speaking countries and even the lone Czech editor that we have (<wave>) seems to be mostly interested in English language first editions. Still, it's conceivable that some unlucky newbie may try to enter a foreign language publication and get totally lost. Perhaps we could (a) add a note to this page pointing editors to the right Help page for entering foreign language originals/translations and (b) add something like "and so on" to the end of the current sentence about prices? Note field

Do we really want to say "Note: this field is usually left blank". I can't recall the last time I entered a book with a blank note field on the pub record, and I don't see many like that.

Also, should we add a mention of the Note to Moderator field, new since this help page was written? I know we don't want to make this page overly complex, but that field is potentially very helpful, and on the other hand can be confusing to new editors. -DES ^Talk 15:29, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
