Shauna Roberts, Ph.D., was born in 1956 in Dayton, Ohio, and grew up in nearby Beavercreek, Ohio. After receiving degrees in anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) and Northwestern University (Evanston, Ill.), she worked at Science magazine and The Journal of NIH Research.
