Robert Sankner was born in 1951, raised in New Jersey, and now live in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated Newark State College in 1973 with a B.A. degree in Fine Arts. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army Reserve. He has been throughout the continental US as well as Hawaii, Germany, Panama and Afghanistan. He started entering art shows at the age of 16 and continued throughout his life. Robert has won awards in Army-wide art competitions. In 1992 he was selected to be a member of the Army Art Team sent to Panama to document Army activities in that country and produced over a hundred pieces of art. This work is now part of the US Army Center of Military History Art Collection. He continues to do artwork for various fanzines and for his personal enjoyment.
