Several sources tell us that this is the pseudonym for "Mrs. Muirson Blake" but, unfortunately, none of them know the author's true first name. She is also listed in some sources as "Mrs. Moore", hence she may have been married twice. The closest we have to a biography of her is at [http://www.answers.com/topic/jean-delaire Answers.com].

Her first husband was William Castle Leave, and SFE says she published as "Mrs E Castle Leaver". Her second husband was Muirson Blake, and she published as "Mrs Muirson Blake".
