From 1985 to 1995, Gretta M. Anderson ran 2AM magazine as editor and publisher. She frequently attended conventions until her declining health curtailed such activities.

Born April 26, 1956 in Baldwin, Mississippi, Gretta M. McCoombs grew up in Illinois and in Chicago studied mainframe computer programming. For ten years, she worked in the field of computers as either an operator or programmer. She married Paul Dale Anderson in 1985 and moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1988. Later she earned a BA in Human Services from Judson University. Afterwards, she ran an active practice of reiki and reflexology. She died of a heart attack at age 55 on January 29, 2012.
