Doug Tierney is the pseudonym of a Boston-based science fiction writer and engineer. He is an alumnus of MIT and Clarion '95, and a member of the Critical Mass science fiction and fantasy workshop. In his day job, he works for a robotics company, where he puts the science in "science fiction".
