The short story titled “To Kill a Venusian” was published in If October 1971. However, it was directly plagiarized from Anthony Boucher's 1952 story Nine-Finger Jack.

The story contained only a few minor changes. The opening sentence was copied verbatim, which included the name of Boucher's titular character "Nine-finger Jack."

After that, science fiction magazines never published work by Irwin Ross.
