Bess Taylor also wrote a non-genre, non-fiction work, ''Knight in Shining Armor: Our 1923 trek in a model 1917 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willys-Knight Willys Knight] touring car'' (1979). This was about her touring the country with her family in 1923. She would have been 11 years old at the time.
 
 
 
The source of the birthplace and birth date, Providence, Rhode Island, 1912, is the back jacket flap of {{t|1733449|Witch in the Shrouds}} (1980). The jacket flap also says that she was a drama teacher for the Berkeley, California school system and at the time was retired and living in Oakland, California.
 
 
A search on Ancestry.com found one person who might be the same as the author but not enough information was found to prove the person found is the same person as the author.
