Bio:Jason Brosious

I see you created Bio:Jason Brosious. I have edited this to add oru standard header for Bio pages, and to remove the book blurb and inappropriately personal comments. Please note our Biography Policy which says:

"When possible, the ISFDB will use biographies posted on Wikipedia. The ISFDB has a facility for adding a link to the Wikipedia article for each author from the author's database page. When such a biography is not available, a short, neutral, factual article, professional in tone, may be posted to a "Bio:" page."

Please also note our [[User talk:Jbrosious/Help:Contents/Purpose#Biographies|Biography guidelines] which say:

"When an author Bio page is posted on the ISFDB Wiki, it should be professional in tone, not facetious, "cutesy", or blatantly promotional. Some authors engage in jokes in printed "About the author" sections of books, or on their own websites, but the ISFDB is not the place for such writing. The purpose of any Bio page on the Wiki is to inform users and other editors briefly about the facts of the author's life. Bio pages should not include blurbs from or summaries of the author's works. Bio pages ought to be factual in content and the facts ought to be verifiable. If a matter is questionable, sources can be cited. "

"This means that, in general, personal accounts, "what inspired the author", what the author's "visions" or intent is, and the like are not appropriate."

Please also note What the ISFDB Wiki is not, where it says:

"The ISFDB Wiki should not be used for posting book reviews, whether favorable, unfavorable, or neutral in tone. It should not be used to publish advertisements or announcements of events, even if SF-related, such as conventions. It should not be used to publish advertisements for books or merchandise. Lists of an author's work ought to be made as entries in the regular database, not as Wiki-pages..."

I have therefore moved an edited version of the outline of the book's plot to its title record as a synopsis. Note, by the way, that it would be most helpful if you would check the publication record, make any needed corrections, and verify the publication -- as the author i assume you have a copy.

Note also that the database author record can list a year or exact date and place of birth, and a link to an official or otherwise relevant website, as well as an author photo. Please feel free to add information to this record.

Thank you for your contributions. -DES Talk 00:58, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
