'Nina Munteanu is a Canadian environmental scientist and internationally published author of SF short stories and several novels. Her latest novel, Darwin's Paradox, released by Dragon Moon Press is a near-future ecological thriller set in Ontario and was nominated for the Aurora Prix Award. Nina's short stories have been translated and published in Greece, Israel, Poland, UK, Romania and North America. Several were nominated for the Speculative Literature Foundation Fountain Award and the Canadian Aurora Prix Award. Nina also writes movie and book reviews that regularly appear in Strange Horizons, The New York Review of Science Fiction, and her own lively award-winning blog, The Alien Next Door.

Nina published three novels to date: Collision with Paradise in 2005; The Cypol in 2006; and Darwin's Paradox in 2007. Its prequel, Angel of Chaos, will be released in October, 2010 by Dragon Moon Press. Starfire World Syndicate recently picked up her trilogy, Splintered Universe, for publication in early 2011. Her historical fantasy The Last Summoner will also be released by Starfire World Syndicate in 2011.

Nina teaches writing online and gives workshops throughout North America. She published a guidebook to writing The Fiction Writer: Get Published, Write Now! with Starfire World Syndicate in 2009.
